Lawyer for Song Yiren Warns Against Defamation and Rumour-Spreading |
After Fan Shiqi’s statement last week, actress Song Yiren (Ireine Song) has also come forward through her lawyer to slam down false allegations linking her to the tragic passing of actor Yu Menglong.
On September 22, her lawyer, Yang Shuguang, issued a formal statement confirming that Song Yiren has commissioned legal action against defamatory content being circulated online.
According to the statement, some netizens had been maliciously twisting Song Yiren’s private life and friendships, then tying them to Alan Yu Menglong’s accident in order to stir up online gossip.

The list of wild claims being spread was extensive — everything from being called a “perpetrator” to unfounded accusations of forcing people to drink, fleeing abroad, and other damaging slanders.
The team stressed these are completely fabricated, created only to attract clicks and attention at the cost of someone’s reputation.
Song Yiren isn’t the only one lawyering up.
Director Cheng Qingsong also denied speculation of his involvement, making it clear he had never even met Yu Menglong, let alone attended any gathering with him.

This wave of denials comes right after Beijing police issued their official conclusion: Yu Menglong’s death was a tragic alcohol-related accident.
Even so, online chatter has carried on, with several familiar names dragged into the mess.
One by one, those named have now stepped out to refute the rumours publicly.

In closing, Song Yiren’s lawyer urged the public to respect the late actor and not use the incident to fabricate stories:
“The deceased has passed away. We ask everyone to stop spreading false claims. Do not believe, do not create, and do not forward rumours.”
The message is clear — while grief shook the entertainment industry, celebrities wrongly tied to the tragedy are drawing the line and letting the law handle those who take things too far online.
