Rumour Mill Goes Into Overdrive
The first whispers appeared on social media early in the morning, quickly pushing Yu Menglong’s name into the top trending list. To clarify the situation, a reporter from Sanxiang Metropolis Daily contacted multiple police stations in Beijing’s Chaoyang District.
Officers at Changying Police Station said they had not received any such case.
Interestingly, when the reporter mentioned Yu Menglong’s name at Jiuxianqiao Police Station, an officer immediately asked, “You’re asking about Yu Menglong, right?” before referring them to Jiangtai Police Station.
However, attempts to reach Jiangtai went unanswered, and Chaoyang District Public Security Bureau did not provide a response either.

Voices From Friends and Witnesses
Meanwhile, Sohu quoted a friend of Yu Menglong’s who admitted he was shocked by the sudden online chatter. “I tried calling him but his phone was switched off. I left him a message on WeChat but got no reply. His Moments haven’t been updated for days,” the friend said.
He added that their last exchange was on Yu Menglong’s birthday (15 June), and everything then felt perfectly normal.
Separately, staff from a Beijing residential complex confirmed that someone had indeed fallen from Building 18 earlier that morning.
Some online commenters connected this incident to Yu Menglong, pointing out he had once lived there. But no link has been officially confirmed.
When pressed for answers, a staff member at Jiangtai Police Station told reporters: “The details cannot be disclosed to the public for now. Please wait for an official announcement.”

Xing Fei Speaks Out
Adding to the concern, actress Xing Fei – Yu’s co-star in the 2020 costume drama The Moon Brightens for You – made a brief but heartfelt post on her personal account: “I hope it’s not true!! It must not be true!!”
Fans immediately connected her message to the swirling rumours, interpreting it as a direct reaction.
Born 15 June 1988 in Urumqi, Xinjiang, Yu Menglong first entered the public eye through Happy Boy (2013) before switching gears into acting.
He rose to fame with memorable roles in Go Princess Go (2015), Eternal Love (2017) as Bai Zhen, and Xuan-Yuan Sword: Han Cloud.

Beyond acting, he has also pursued music, releasing albums like Toy and singles such as Staring and Mirror, while occasionally directing MVs. His blend of looks and versatile talent has made him one of the steady names of the post-2010s C-ent wave.
Business records show he previously set up two studios – Shanghai Qimeng Film and Television Culture Studio and Dongyang Xianmeng Film and Television Culture Studio – though both have since been deregistered.
At this point, nothing has been officially confirmed regarding the rumours of Yu Menglong’s wellbeing. Police have acknowledged an incident but stopped short of providing names or details.
Friends, colleagues, and fans are anxiously awaiting clarity, with many calling for caution against spreading unverified information.
Until there’s an official statement, the truth remains uncertain.
