It was a chilly February night, but that didn’t stop Kiriyama Akito (35) from looking like an excited kid on Christmas morning.
Gripping his backpack straps tightly, he was ready to jet off on his honeymoon with his new wife, Kano Maiko (36), former volleyball star.

The couple, who announced their marriage on 3rd January, strolled into Haneda Airport’s departure lobby like they owned the place.
Both sporting blonde hair, they were impossible to miss, laughing and whispering to each other like teenagers in love.
“Seriously, they were glued to each other! Proper honeymoon vibes,” said one lucky onlooker.

The love story began in 2019, when Kiriyama, as a special supporter for the Volleyball World Cup, met Kano on set.
The chemistry was instant, but they managed to keep their romance under wraps until 2023, when their relationship was finally exposed.
Dating was no low-key affair.
From cozy home dates to diving adventures in Okinawa, they were inseparable.

Maiko Kano even looked after Kiriyama’s dog when he was away! And when their love story went public, the wedding plans kicked into high gear.
Kiriyama had long been plotting this February getaway, even requesting time off well in advance. His excitement? Off the charts.
“Dude was planning this like a military operation,” joked an industry insider.
Their mystery destination? Somewhere with golf and beaches—ultimate honeymoon goals.
Kano Maiko, on the other hand, couldn’t resist dropping hints before the wedding.
From posting WEST. concert tickets with “Best night ever!” captions to accidentally revealing Kiriyama’s curtains and wallpaper in her photos, she had fans connecting the dots way before the announcement.

Kano misplaced her plane ticket, sending everything into panic mode.
Kiriyama, ever the devoted husband, rushed to help, staying calm despite the drama.
“They handled it like pros—teamwork at its finest,” an eyewitness recalled.
WEST. is gearing up for their 11th-anniversary album release and a nationwide tour, but for now, Kiriyama is all about husband life.
