Through that friendship, Harada and Okada became acquainted, with reports suggesting their friendship became considerably closer in recent years.

Her representatives acknowledged that Harada has been a close friend for several years but said there was no romantic relationship between them. They also pushed back against speculation surrounding the ring, saying they could not identify which ring was being discussed but confirmed that it was not an engagement ring and that there was no engagement or engagement plan.
