| Love in Disguise Episode 4 Recap and Review. |
Love in Disguise episode 4 pushes Jae-hee deeper into her undercover assignment as she tries to uncover the truth behind Secretary Han’s death, while Yi-jun struggles with disturbing memories and keeps important information to himself. Between a suspicious meeting at an art gallery, a journalist with a camera and a series of increasingly awkward encounters at home, the latest episode mixes corporate intrigue with romantic comedy, proving that working as Yi-jun’s personal secretary might be considerably more dangerous than Jae-hee expected.
The episode opens with Yi-jun filming a company vlog designed to show employees the supposedly genuine person behind his public image. Naturally, the performance is polished enough to make you wonder whether anyone at Taekang has ever met the real man. While he presents his friendly side to the camera, Jae-hee is preparing for her first day inside his home, with Captain Park and Seok-jin helping her maintain her cover.
When Jae-hee arrives, Yi-jun immediately takes her glasses and announces, “Busted.” For a moment, it looks as though her disguise has fallen apart before the investigation has even begun. Thankfully for her, he is initially referring to her fashion choices rather than her identity. However, he soon discovers that the glasses have no prescription lenses and promptly crushes them, cutting off the video feed being monitored by Captain Park and Seok-jin from their van.
Jae-hee has to think quickly. She explains that she wore the glasses to make herself look more masculine because her features are naturally feminine. Yi-jun accepts the explanation, allowing her to enter the house without blowing her cover. She then meets the housekeeper, Choi Myeong-suk, who insists on being addressed as Manager Choi. Clearly, even a private household comes with its own organisational chart.
Jae-hee sneaks away to call Seok-jin and explain what happened to the glasses. Despite the setback, she promises to earn Yi-jun’s trust and continue gathering information. Unfortunately, her determination lasts barely long enough for her to step outside. Yi-jun’s cat, Jerry, suddenly leaps towards her, sending her backwards into Yi-jun and knocking him straight into the cat’s litter box.
It is hardly the professional first impression she was hoping to make. If anything, the incident establishes that Jae-hee’s greatest obstacle might not be corporate corruption but simply surviving an ordinary day in Yi-jun’s house.
Later, the pair discuss Yi-jun’s preferences and personal habits. He makes it clear that inefficiency is among his biggest dislikes, which is an interesting standard for a man whose new secretary has already experienced a broken disguise, an unexpected feline attack and a rather unfortunate collision.
Meanwhile, the story expands beyond the household as viewers are introduced to Lee Hye-jung, the chairman’s secretary at Taekang headquarters. Her arrival adds another character to the growing network of relationships surrounding the company, where professional titles appear to matter almost as much as personal loyalties.
Back at the house, Yi-jun raises the subject of Secretary Han’s death and asks Jae-hee what she thinks happened. She responds by questioning why he decided to hire a personal secretary at such a sensitive time. Rather than giving her a straightforward answer, he establishes three strict rules: she must speak efficiently, maintain her distance from him and never enter the last room on the second floor.
That final restriction is, of course, the sort of instruction guaranteed to attract attention. A locked room in a mystery drama is rarely just a room, and Jae-hee now has another potential lead to investigate.
Not long afterwards, Kim Si-hyun arrives at the house to speak privately with Yi-jun. Their discussion turns to Secretary Han’s death, with Si-hyun explaining that they have offered her family everything they can. The conversation suggests that the company is trying to manage the consequences of her death, but it leaves important questions unanswered about what happened before she died.
Manager Choi eventually brings out tea, giving Jae-hee an opportunity to get closer to the conversation. She carries the tray upstairs herself and leaves her broken glasses behind to capture the men's voices. The improvised recording proves more useful than the glasses ever were as a disguise.
Through the conversation, Jae-hee discovers that Secretary Han had seen something she should not have before her death. A man identified as Manager Park is also connected to the situation, providing the investigation with another name to follow.
As Si-hyun prepares to leave, he tells Jae-hee to visit Taekang headquarters to sign her employment contract. The arrangement gives her a legitimate reason to enter the corporate environment, where she can investigate without relying entirely on what she overhears inside Yi-jun’s home.
At headquarters, the series introduces viewers to Yoon Mi-jin, chief executive of Taekang Retail, and Executive Director Yoon Na-jung. Both appear to be daughters of Chairman Yoon, placing them within the family at the centre of the company's power structure. Na-jung, in particular, seems far from pleased about Yi-jun's position as the intended successor.
Her reaction suggests that the succession could become a source of conflict, especially if Yi-jun's private troubles begin affecting his standing within the business. In a company where family connections and executive ambitions overlap, Jae-hee may discover that the mystery surrounding Secretary Han is only one part of a much larger problem.
After returning to Captain Park and Seok-jin, Jae-hee reports what she has learned. She also points out that Yi-jun has not returned to work since Secretary Han's death, a detail that raises further questions about his state of mind and what he knows about the incident.
The conversation reveals that Wan-gu has also gone undercover at Taekang, although his assignment is considerably less glamorous. Rather than posing as an executive or an assistant, he has taken a job cleaning the office bathrooms. It is an unconventional way to gather intelligence, but the arrangement allows him to hear employees talking when they assume nobody important is listening.
That night, Yi-jun wakes from a nightmare involving Secretary Han. His distress continues when he goes to get a glass of milk and experiences a disturbing vision of her body. The scene adds a more serious dimension to his character, suggesting that the events surrounding her death have affected him far more deeply than he is willing to admit.
The following day, Jae-hee begins her work at headquarters. When she notices a man carrying a box that is about to fall on Lee Hye-jung, she quickly pulls Hye-jung out of harm's way. Hye-jung introduces herself before leaving, giving the two women an initial connection that may become relevant as the story develops.
Si-hyun later meets Jae-hee and comments on the number of people Hye-jung has rejected. He repeatedly insists that he has no romantic interest in her, apparently believing that saying it often enough will make the claim convincing. Unfortunately for him, Hye-jung overhears the conversation, creating an awkward situation that he could probably have avoided by simply keeping his opinions to himself.
Before leaving the office, Jae-hee meets Wan-gu in the bathroom and receives another important update. An employee reportedly saw Park Min-hwan from Accounting Team 3 taking something from Yi-jun’s office on the day Secretary Han died. His behaviour appeared suspicious, making him a potentially important figure in the investigation.
Captain Park and Seok-jin decide that following Park Min-hwan is the next logical step. Meanwhile, Jae-hee returns to Yi-jun's house, where Manager Choi explains that her employer has not been sleeping properly.
Inside the house, Jae-hee notices Yi-jun staring at a vase. Something about the room feels different, and she soon realises why: the vase has been moved slightly, while the chandelier appears dimmer than before. These small changes suggest that Yi-jun's surroundings may have been altered, although the episode leaves the significance of the details open to interpretation.
Elsewhere, Si-hyun approaches Hye-jung during the lunch break and apologises for his earlier comments. It is a small moment, but it shows that their interaction has not ended with his embarrassing insistence that he is not interested in her.
Back at home, Yi-jun takes his suspicion of others to another level by making Jae-hee taste his food to check whether it has been poisoned. The request puts her in an uncomfortable position, but it also reveals how little trust Yi-jun seems willing to place in the people around him. Before the situation can develop further, he receives a call from Manager Park and leaves the room.
At the same time, Captain Park and Seok-jin follow Manager Park's movements and discover that he is heading towards Naon Art Centre. The location becomes the setting for one of the episode's most significant encounters.
Yi-jun asks Jae-hee to drive him to the same destination. Once inside the gallery, which is closed to the public, he meets Manager Park and hands him a flash drive. He then asks whether Park has deleted everything Secretary Han saw before her death.
Manager Park confirms that he has.
The exchange immediately raises the stakes. If there was material that needed to be deleted, what exactly did Secretary Han discover, and why was its removal so important? The flash drive becomes another piece of the mystery, while Yi-jun's involvement makes it increasingly difficult to determine whether he is investigating the truth, concealing it or attempting to protect himself from the consequences.
Jae-hee secretly enters the gallery, hoping to discover more. Her attempt does not remain hidden for long, however, as Yi-jun catches her and grabs her by the throat while demanding to know why she has followed him.
Before the confrontation can go any further, Jae-hee notices a journalist photographing Yi-jun. She takes the man's camera and tries to pursue him, but Yi-jun stops her. She explains that she spotted the journalist in the car park and decided to follow him, leaving the question of his intentions unresolved.
The scene adds another layer to the investigation. Someone is taking photographs of Yi-jun during a private meeting, suggesting that the encounter could attract unwanted attention or expose information that powerful people would rather keep hidden.
Meanwhile, Si-hyun goes to a club with several colleagues. Back at home, Yi-jun calls him to confirm whether Jae-hee's employment contract has been finalised. Si-hyun confirms that everything is in place, but abruptly ends the call when he notices a familiar face on the dance floor.
It is Hye-jung.
He approaches her, and the two begin talking. Their earlier awkward encounter at the office now gives way to a more personal interaction, with Si-hyun seemingly finding it difficult to stay away from the woman he insisted he was not interested in.
Elsewhere, Jae-hee meets Seok-jin and updates him about the journalist at the gallery. She also reveals her next plan: she intends to investigate the secret room in Yi-jun's house the following day. Given Yi-jun's explicit warning against entering it, the decision could put her cover at risk, but the room may contain clues that cannot be found anywhere else.
Si-hyun and Hye-jung leave the club together and head to her home, leaving their relationship in an increasingly intriguing position.
The following morning, Jae-hee returns to Yi-jun's house. Manager Choi asks her to take some water and juice to his room, but she arrives at an inconvenient moment. Yi-jun is not in bed as she expects; he has just stepped out of the shower wearing nothing but a towel.
He attempts to offer a vague apology for his behaviour at the gallery the previous day. Jae-hee, meanwhile, is far more concerned about getting out of the room before the towel becomes an even bigger problem.
When Yi-jun pulls her towards him, she pushes him away in surprise. He loses his balance and falls backwards, prompting Jae-hee to reach out and catch him. Unfortunately, her attempt to prevent an accident produces an even more embarrassing result: Yi-jun's towel falls off.
The episode ends this encounter on a thoroughly awkward note, returning to the physical comedy that has become part of their developing dynamic. After all the secret recordings, suspicious meetings and questions about Secretary Han's death, Jae-hee's undercover mission has somehow reached another crisis involving a bathroom and poor timing.
Love in Disguise episode 4 review
Episode 4 works best when it balances its corporate mystery with the awkward comedy between Jae-hee and Yi-jun. The investigation surrounding Secretary Han's death is becoming more complicated, and the flash drive, missing information and suspicious movements at Taekang provide enough questions to keep the story moving. Yi-jun is particularly interesting because his behaviour never offers a clear answer about what he knows.
His nightmares suggest genuine distress, while his meeting with Manager Park raises fresh doubts about his involvement. Jae-hee, meanwhile, brings energy to the story, even when her plans go spectacularly wrong. The cat incident and final towel mishap provide some amusing relief, although the repeated physical comedy occasionally threatens to distract from the more serious plot. Still, the episode builds curiosity without revealing everything too early. The secret room is an especially promising thread, and viewers will naturally want to know what Yi-jun is hiding behind that locked door.
Overall, episode 4 leaves Love in Disguise in a stronger position by connecting Jae-hee's undercover work with the growing mystery at Taekang. There are still plenty of unanswered questions, but that is part of the appeal. Will Jae-hee discover what Secretary Han saw, and can she investigate Yi-jun's secrets without exposing her own identity? The next episode has several intriguing threads to pick up, particularly after the gallery encounter and the discovery that someone may have entered Yi-jun's office on the day of Han's death. What did you make of Yi-jun's behaviour in this episode, and do you think he is hiding something more serious than he lets on? Share your theories and predictions for the next episode.
