Actor Wang Nianjiangcheng, known in the short-drama circuit and still early in his acting career, found himself in an unexpected incident on 22 November when a planned action scene went off-mark.
A video circulating online captured the moment a loud impact landed straight on his face, followed by Wang Nianjiangcheng stumbling back, clutching his eye area as he struggled to stay upright. Crew members paused filming immediately, and the actor took several moments before he could fully regain his balance.

Not long after the incident, Wang uploaded a photo through his social media account showing clear bruising and swelling around his eye.

He added that he planned to rest properly and follow medical advice until he recovered.
On 23 November, the production behind the drama released an official apology. They explained that the injury came from a positioning error during the action sequence, causing Wang Nianjiangcheng to be struck unintentionally.
Doctors confirmed a cut roughly one centimetre long, which had already been stitched. The team pledged to cover all medical fees, recovery support, insurance processing, and any related obligations.
A dedicated staff member has been assigned to coordinate Wang’s entire recovery process.
Wang Nianjiangcheng later mentioned that the wound required three stitches and that he would need some time off to rest. As a result, filming has been put on hold for the moment.
Management Team and Co-Star Respond
Wang’s management stated that the setback caused a significant amount of loss to their schedule and that they would be taking appropriate follow-up measures.
The co-star involved in the scene, actor Lü Yihao, also issued a public apology.
He explained that the shot was originally meant to be assisted by camera positioning, but due to the close distance during filming, he failed to control the force and angle of his movement. The mistake led to Wang Nianjiangcheng’s injury—a result he said he deeply regretted.
Lü added that he would take full responsibility and cooperate fully with the production’s arrangements.
Official Production Statement Reaffirms Safety Commitment
In a detailed statement, the team behind Zhizhi Bujuan (the drama Wang Nianjiangcheng was filming) clarified the sequence of events, expressing respect for Wang Nianjiangcheng’s professionalism and apologising to him, his team, the audience, and all partners.

They confirmed that the emergency plan was activated immediately, the actor was accompanied to receive treatment, the wound was fully addressed, and his condition is currently stable.
They also acknowledged shortcomings in on-set safety management and promised improvements going forward.
C-netz, however, had plenty to say about the whole situation. While many believed it was just an unfortunate on-set mistake, a portion of commenters speculated that Lü Yihao might have acted with intention or held some sort of grudge, using the scene as an opening.
These claims remain nothing more than online speculation, but the discussion shows just how quickly public opinion can spin when behind-the-scenes footage surfaces.
Wang Nian Jiaang Cheng, now 21, transitioned into acting after previously serving as a goalkeeper in the Chinese Super League youth system. His quick rise in short-form dramas has brought him growing attention, making this accident a widely discussed moment online.
For now, the priority remains his recovery — and fans are hoping to see him back on set once he’s fully healed.
