Jessica Jung has found herself trending across Chinese and Korean social media this week after a wave of reports claimed she was being sued in China for allegedly breaching a commercial contract. But within hours, her team came out swinging — and firmly denied everything.

Jessica Responds to Alleged 13.1 Million Yuan Lawsuit

On 13 November, Chinese court notice websites suddenly showed Jessica listed in a commercial dispute filed by Hangzhou Xuanbu Network Technology Co., Ltd. The company claimed she failed to fulfil agreed promotional duties, and demanded:

  • 10 million yuan in returned advance payment

  • 3 million yuan in penalties

  • 100,000 yuan in legal fees

  • Total: 13.1 million yuan (roughly 2.39 million SGD)

A hearing was reportedly set for 19 August 2025.

Naturally, the internet blew up. But by midday, Jessica’s team at Coridel Entertainment had already shut it all down.

Coridel Entertainment: “The Allegations Are Groundless”

In an official statement posted on Weibo, Coridel didn’t mince words. They described the circulating claims as:

“Fabricated, baseless, and containing personal attacks that have caused significant reputational damage and emotional stress.”

The agency confirmed that they’re already gathering evidence with legal representatives and warned that the online space is not a place where false speculation can run wild.

Jessica Jung’s personal studio also echoed the sentiment:

“The internet is not beyond the law. We urge the public to remain rational, avoid spreading misinformation, and help maintain a clear and healthy media environment.”

Why This Story Went Viral

Jessica Jung has enjoyed a major career resurgence in China since her appearance on Sisters Who Make Waves 3 in 2022, which boosted her popularity and led to various events, endorsements, and fashion projects. So when legal drama headlines popped up, fans instantly panicked.

Complicating matters further, old reports resurfaced about a previous contract dispute six years ago, making current claims look more dramatic than they actually are.

But this time, Coridel insists the narrative circulating online has nothing to do with reality.

What’s Actually Going On?

While the court notice exists publicly, Jessica Jung’s team emphasises that:

  • They were not properly contacted by the complainants

  • The circulating allegations include false or misleading information

  • Legal action is already underway to address the matter

For now, fans are being urged to wait for further clarification rather than rely on screenshots circulating online.

Despite the noise, Jessica Jung remains active in entertainment and fashion. From brand collaborations to appearances in China and Korea, she’s kept her post-Girls’ Generation career thriving — which is why her team is being extra firm about protecting her name.
