Japanese entertainment fans woke up to sweet news on 13 November 2025 — actor Emoto Tokio (柄本時生) and actress Satou Honami (さとうほなみ) officially announced their marriage!

Both aged 36 and born in the same year, the beloved duo shared the joyful update through heartfelt posts on their respective Instagram accounts, complete with a warm message and a playful couple photo that instantly melted fans’ hearts.

Their joint statement read, “We, Emoto Tokio and Satou Honami, have registered our marriage today, November 13. We will continue walking together while never forgetting our gratitude and our original intentions. Please continue to support us warmly.”

The announcement was signed by both of them in their own handwriting, showing just how personal and genuine the message was.

The two have crossed paths several times in the entertainment scene.

They first modelled together for a fashion brand campaign in 2023, and later co-starred in the 2024 TV Tokyo drama “Kinshichō Paradise: From Shibuya to One Street Away,” which Emoto also produced.

Their chemistry sparked interest at the time, and several Japanese magazines later reported sightings of the two spending time together — including a story earlier this year where Satou was seen visiting Emoto’s home with her own key.

This marriage marks a new chapter for both stars, who have each experienced previous relationships.

Tokio Emoto was previously married to actress Iriki Mari in 2020 before parting ways in 2022.

Honami Sato, also known by her stage name “Hona Ikoka”, gained fame as the drummer of the popular band Gesu no Kiwami Otome, before transitioning into acting.

She too was previously married but is now happily remarried to Emoto.

Satou’s acting career has grown rapidly since she began performing in 2017, with standout roles in dramas such as “Roppongi Class” (TV Asahi) and “Anata ga Shite Kurenakutemo” (Fuji TV).

Meanwhile, Emoto Tokio — known for his expressive, natural acting style — has appeared in numerous acclaimed films and dramas, continuing the legacy of his famous acting family.

He’s the son of veteran actor Emoto Akira and late actress Tsunogae Kazue, and the younger brother of actor Emoto Tasuku, who is married to award-winning actress Ando Sakura.

Fans across Japan have flooded social media with congratulatory messages, celebrating the union of two talented, down-to-earth artists who’ve both carved impressive careers in film, TV, and music.

Many praised their genuine chemistry, saying the announcement felt “refreshingly natural” and “beautifully grounded.”
