| Hong Kong’s A-listers Swap Japan for Vietnam’s Sun-Kissed Shores |
It looks like Vietnam’s officially made it onto Hong Kong’s celebrity travel map.
A recent survey by St Headline, one of Hong Kong’s oldest media outlets, found that more and more stars are ditching their usual Japan and Thailand trips for Vietnam’s crystal waters and soft beaches — and they’re raving about it online.
Many singers and actors described Vietnam as the new “it” destination, praising its chill resorts, affordable luxury, and picture-perfect coastlines.
Phu Quoc Island in particular seems to be the new playground for Hong Kong’s elite travellers.
Mirror’s Tiger shared that several of his bandmates recently returned from Phu Quoc and couldn’t stop talking about the island’s stylish hotels and clear blue seas.

Following the trend, singer-actress Gillian Chung spent part of August unwinding at a beachside resort there, while her close friends Linda Chung and Myolie Wu have made Vietnam their regular family getaway spot.
Wu even dropped a glowing review on social media, calling Phu Quoc’s food “amazing” and its sand “the softest I’ve ever felt.”
Meanwhile, Linda Chung’s family holiday snaps from the island — complete with palm-tree sunsets — only added to the hype.
Insiders say the best time to visit Phu Quoc is between November and April, when the seas are calm and perfect for diving, kayaking, or just lounging beachside without a drop of rain in sight.

What’s interesting is how fast Vietnam’s climbed the A-list ladder.
Not long ago, Hong Kong celebrities would typically choose Tokyo or Bangkok for quick getaways, but now Vietnam’s coastal cities — from Da Nang to Nha Trang — are popping up all over celebrity feeds.
With affordable flights, luxury resorts, and that laid-back tropical vibe, it’s not hard to see why Vietnam has become Hong Kong’s new travel crush.
