Mickey Huang admits divorce from Summer Meng, pleads for lighter sentence in court

Taiwanese TV personality Mickey Huang finally broke his silence in court this week — openly confirming that he’s no longer married to actress Summer Meng

The revelation came during his latest hearing at the High Court on 21 October, where he also pleaded for a reduced sentence.

Speaking in front of the judge, Mickey Huang admitted that the marriage has legally ended and that he’s now paying financial support to his ex-wife.

With a low tone, he told the court he “doesn’t really understand the law” and asked for mercy, saying he’s learned from his mistakes and only hopes to make amends.

After making his statement, Mickey Huang reportedly bowed deeply and apologised to the victim’s side, saying he understood how painful family breakdowns can be because he’d experienced one himself.

But the victim’s lawyer wasn’t having it — rejecting the apology outright and stressing that the victim, still young, has been left with deep emotional scars that a simple “sorry” can’t fix.

This session marked the final round of arguments in Huang’s appeal case.

The judges have now closed the discussion phase, and the verdict is scheduled for 25 November at 10 a.m.

If the court sides with his defence, Mickey Huang could see his eight-month sentence reduced or suspended.

Otherwise, he’ll have to serve time.

Either way, the case has already taken a heavy toll on his personal and professional life — including the quiet end of his marriage to Summer Meng earlier this year.
