Former AKB48 member Aki Takajo revealed that she has officially joined talent agency Horipro

The news came as a delightful birthday gift to her fans, many of whom have supported her since her earliest idol days.

In a post shared on her social media, Takajo reflected on the meaning of the moment. 

Turning 34, she noted that she’s now spent roughly half her life in the entertainment industry and expressed deep gratitude to all those who’ve been part of her journey — fans, staff, friends, and family.

I’m so full of gratitude that I’ve been able to do this work for half my life. None of this would be possible without you — my fans and everyone around me. Thank you, truly.

For those familiar with her career, the move marks a meaningful shift. Born in Tokyo in 1991, Takajo first rose to fame as part of AKB48’s 6th generation class, quickly progressing from trainee to full member.

On the personal front, Aki Takajo married professional footballer Yuji Takahashi in 2019. The couple now share two sons, born in 2019 and 2022, adding a rich dimension to her life beyond the spotlight.
