Inoue Rina Announces Graduation from Sakurazaka46 After 7 Years
Sakurazaka46’s Inoue Rina to Leave Group with 13th Single Era

Sakurazaka46’s Inoue Rina has officially announced her graduation from the group through a heartfelt blog post, confirming that her journey with the Sakamichi Series will end with the group’s upcoming 13th single Unhappy birthday構文, set for release on 29 October.

The 24-year-old reflected on her seven years as an idol, recalling her start back in 2018 when she joined as a 2nd gen member of Keyakizaka46 (now Sakurazaka46) after passing the Sakamichi joint audition.

I was just a normal girl who admired the group, and suddenly I became part of it. It felt like a miracle,” she wrote.

Looking back, Inoue Rina said she gave everything to her time in the group: “I’ve been able to experience joy, struggles, and growth in ways I never imagined. I can proudly say I have no regrets. That’s why I’m ready to graduate now.”

She admitted the decision wasn’t an easy one, sharing that she’s been thinking about it for months.

Of course, it’s sad to leave, but I’m also excited to take a big step forward into something new.

In her post, Inoue Rina thanked fans, members, and staff for their support, adding with a laugh that her loyal “oshi” fans know all too well how she’s stumbled and stood back up countless times over the years.

Fans are now curious whether she’ll get a dedicated graduation concert.

In Sakamichi groups, not every member receives a solo send-off; such events are usually reserved for seniors or key figures.

For now, no official word has been given, but Inoue Rina promised to give her all until her final stage. Hightlights of her career:

  • Centre role: Inoue Rina took the spotlight as the centre for Kakushinteki Croissant, a B-side track on the 7th single Shounin Yokkyuu in 2023.

  • Variety & media: She became the 4th main personality of Sakurazaka46’s Koko Yuurakuchou Hoshizora Housoukyoku radio show, and appeared as a regular on TBS’s Love it! in 2023.

  • Respected figure: Within the group, she was known as someone who worked hard through both highs and setbacks, often admired for her resilience and humour.

As her chapter in Sakurazaka46 winds down, Inoue Rina is stepping into an unknown but hopeful future.

Whether she continues in entertainment or takes another path entirely, fans will surely follow her journey beyond idol life.

Her message closed warmly: “Even though my time is limited, I want to make every moment with you all fun until the very end. Please continue to support me.”
