RIRYDAY Officially Disbands After Final Live “The Day of Angel”

RIRYDAY Announces Disbandment
RIRYDAY Confirms Disbandment After One Year of Activities Under MY HERO PROJECT

Japanese idol group RIRYDAY (リリィデイ) has officially disbanded following their last live, The Day of Angel, held on 13 September 2025 at SHIBUYA FOWS.

The announcement was made earlier this month, and as promised, the four members gave their fans—known as WINGS—one final performance together before going their separate ways.

RIRYDAY was formed in July 2024 as the very first unit under SOENSHA’s MY HERO PROJECT, later joined by sister group VIGU.

The original line-up included Sakura Kitazume (from Produce 101 Japan The Girls), Ayana Kuwahara (from Girls Planet 999), Ayaka, Nonoka, Miri, Mion, and Juri.

They dropped their pre-debut EP RIRYDAY on 6 September 2024, showcasing fresh pop energy but never officially launched a full debut.

Internal shifts followed soon after—Mion departed on 26 November, with Juri leaving a few weeks later on 20 December.

Despite the early turbulence, the group pressed on with their remaining members, gaining a modest but loyal following thanks to their heartfelt performances and family-like bond.

Why the Disbandment?

Idol Group RIRYDAY to Disband After One-Man Live

On 6 September 2025, the management and members jointly revealed that RIRYDAY’s activities would wrap up after their one-man live in Shibuya.

The statement expressed gratitude to all WINGS, staff, and supporters, and confirmed that each member would now pursue individual paths in music, performance, or new challenges.

The decision wasn’t framed as a sudden breakup but rather a natural closing chapter, with the group assuring fans that the experience would serve as the foundation for their next steps.

Ayaka shared an especially heartfelt message to fans ahead of the final stage:

The RIRYDAY members have become like family to me over this past year. I’m deeply grateful to our staff who always supported us, and most of all to the WINGS who cheered us on. Performing as part of RIRYDAY was a precious experience I’ll never forget. I hope our last stage on 13 September will be a special day with everyone.

The official announcement closed with a simple request: to continue supporting Ayana, Sakura, Ayaka, Nonoka, and Miri as they begin their solo chapters.

While RIRYDAY’s time as a group was short, their impact within the indie idol scene—and especially for fans who followed them since audition days—remains significant.

The members are expected to branch out into new projects, whether in music, acting, or other creative pursuits.

For now, The Day of Angel serves as both a farewell and a promise: that RIRYDAY’s story may have ended, but their members’ journeys are only just beginning.
