| iQIYI’s New Drama “My Queen My Rules” Sparks Anticipation |
iQIYI is gearing up for another big modern romance. The platform has quietly released teaser photos for its upcoming 30-episode drama My Queen My Rules (《不二之臣》), adapted from the popular Jinjiang novel Your Most Faithful Companion by Bu Zhi Shi Ke Cai.
The official cast reveal is set to take place at iQIYI’s annual conference on 25 September 2025, but the teasers already have fans buzzing.
Leading man Ao Ruipeng looks almost unrecognisable — is that blonde hair we see?

His striking look immediately became a talking point online, with many curious if it’s a full transformation for his role as Cen Sen.
Novel Adaptation with “Contract Marriage” Twist
The story follows Cen Sen and Ji Mingshu, two individuals who are forced into a marriage of convenience due to family circumstances.
What starts as an arrangement slowly blossoms into genuine affection — the classic “marriage before love” set-up beloved by C-drama fans.
The drama is fronted by Ao Ruipeng, who’s been steadily rising since his breakout with Moonlight Mystique alongside Bai Lu, and most recently won hearts in the hit historical mystery Coroner’s Diary as Yan Chi.
Ao Ruipeng was previously reported to reunite with Li Landi, with the pair cast in Coroner's Diary.

Opposite him is Shen Yujie, confirmed to play Ji Mingshu.
The two almost crossed paths in Coroner’s Diary, where Ao played the dashing Yan Chi and Shen supposed to play Yue Ning.
Viewers praised their chemistry back then, so this reunion in a contemporary setting is already hyped up.

Casting Buzz
Interestingly, Ji Mingshu’s role has been the subject of plenty of casting chatter.
Earlier speculation linked names like Gulinazha, Li Landi, Wu Xuanyi, and Yang Chaoyue, and even actress Xu Ruohan was in the mix. Many fans thought Xu Ruohan’s aura would fit the “sweet drama” vibe after her projects with Jerry Yan (Summer Flower) and Zhang Linghe (Love You).
But with Shen Yujie stepping in, expectations are high.
Netizens point out that her elegant visuals paired with Ao Ruipeng’s sharp presence could be the perfect recipe for modern romance magic.
With just weeks to go until iQIYI makes things official at their September conference, My Queen My Rules is shaping up as one of the platform’s headliners for 2026.
Fans will be watching closely for the first trailer — and, of course, to confirm whether Ao Ruipeng is really going blonde for the role.
