Li Landi Blushes Over Kiss Scene with Ao Ruipeng in Coroner’s Diary: “I Was So Shy Filming It!” |
The Coroner’s Diary hype train isn’t slowing down anytime soon—and neither is the buzz around Li Landi and Ao Ruipeng’s sizzling on-screen chemistry.
The period mystery drama (Chinese title: 朝雪录), currently airing to rave reviews, took centre stage on 18 July with back-to-back promo events in Beijing, and fans were living for it.
The cast—Li Landi, Ao Ruipeng, Yu Cheng’en, and Shen Yujie—showed up in style at both the “Chasing Drama Gathering” and “Taochang Announcement Day.”
It wasn’t just your typical Q&A and photo ops either—this promo tour was packed with flirty banter, hilarious games, and enough heart-fluttering fan service to fuel an entire TikTok edit spree.
Sweet Scenes & Shy Confessions

Li Landi was absolutely glowing in a curly updo and delicate blue floral lace dress, while Ao Ruipeng kept it casually dashing in a denim-on-denim look. But it wasn’t just about the looks—these two brought the vibes too.
At one point, the crowd went wild as Ao Ruipeng scattered flower petals while Shen Yujie whipped out the fake snow machine, helping Li Landi recreate the dreamy umbrella scene where Qin Wan (her character) meets Yan Chi (Ao’s role) for the first time.

And yes, they also acted out the iconic “love at first sight” moment that had everyone squealing. Fans weren’t shy about showing love either, calling out their ship name “Leopard & Cat” (豹豹猫猫) as the duo flirted and giggled their way through the event.

But the real talk happened during the media interview. When asked which scene left the deepest impression, Li Landi instantly brought up that kiss scene.

“I felt so shy while filming that scene,” she admitted with a sheepish grin, referring to the moment when Qin Wan kisses Yan Chi after their feelings are finally confirmed.
Cue collective screaming.

Ao Ruipeng Reflects on Growing as an Actor
Not to be outdone, Ao Ruipeng chimed in with a thoughtful breakdown of his character Yan Chi, especially how it compares to his breakout role as Lei Wujie in The Blood of Youth.
“Yan Chi is more mature, calm, and clever—he’s someone who reads the room and knows how to handle people. It’s quite different from Lei Wujie’s energy, so it really challenged me as an actor,” he shared.
Different vibes, same heartthrob status.
The second half of the day leaned fully into Coroner’s Diary’s eerie, mysterious vibes. During the “Taochang Announcement Day,” the cast took on a “mystery horror box” challenge—and reactions did not disappoint.
Li Landi looked terrified as she opened her box (which turned out to be empty, bless her), while Ao Ruipeng coolly handled a prickly durian shell like a champ and breezed through trivia questions.

Later on, the group took part in the “Goujian Sword” relay game, where they passed a sword prop along in sequence… or tried to. Fumbled handovers, off-beat timing, and endless laughter had everyone onstage (and in the audience) cracking up. It was chaotic, wholesome fun that showed just how well this cast clicks off-screen.
Why Coroner’s Diary Is a Must-Watch Right Now
Set in a fictional ancient dynasty, Coroner’s Diary mixes crime-solving, suspense, and a dash of supernatural flair with classic period romance. While the intricate plot keeps viewers guessing, it’s the raw emotion and real chemistry—especially between leads Li Landi and Ao Ruipeng—that’s made this drama a standout in the 2025 line-up.
Whether you’re in it for the murder mysteries, the slow-burn romance, or just to see what the “Leopard & Cat” couple gets up to next, one thing’s clear: Coroner’s Diary is not one to miss.
