| Chen Chusheng Emerges Victorious in 'Singer 2025' Finale: A 25-Year Journey to the Top |
Chen Chusheng has been crowned the season's "King of Singers" in Singer 2025, a title he hasn’t held since his breakthrough win on Super Boy back in 2007.
The 44-year-old singer’s career has come full circle, having risen back into the public eye thanks to reality shows and collaborations with fellow musicians.
His victory comes as a testament to his enduring talent, after 25 years of performing, including humble beginnings in bars at just 19 years old.
While Chen Chusheng’s win was widely celebrated, it wasn’t without controversy. Speculation ran high among fans and netizens who felt that the outcome may have been pre-determined.

A photo, which allegedly showed a list of the final rankings inside the show’s control room, added fuel to the fire.
Despite these whispers, Chen Chusheng himself kept things gracious, humbly stating, “There’s no true ‘King of Singers’ in my heart—just a group of artists deeply passionate about music.”
The competition in the finale was fierce. Chen faced off against some powerhouse vocalists, including American country star Mickey Guyton, who finished in second, and Chinese singer Shan Yichun, who came third.

Shan Yichun's duet with guest singer Wang Leehom had generated a lot of buzz, and many were taken aback by her unexpected placement.
Other standout contestants included Malaysian singer Jess Lee, who finished fourth, and Taiwanese sensation A-Lin, who ended in seventh, though her performance was marred by technical issues.
The finale saw two rounds of intense competition. In the first round, the seven remaining contestants performed alongside special guest singers, with the audience voting for their favourites.

Mickey Guyton topped this round, with Chen Chusheng securing third. The second round saw the contestants perform their own songs, and Chen Chusheng’s heartfelt performance of his new track Award-Winning Work (获奖之作) proved to be the turning point that secured his win.
“I’ve been a singer for 25 years, and to me, the title of ‘King of Singers’ doesn’t define anyone. It’s all about the music and the passion we share,” Chen Chusheng reflected in his emotional post-win speech.
