Lifetime’s Married at First Sight: Honeymoon Island promised romance, tropical scenery and the rather ambitious idea that strangers could meet, connect and leave with a serious relationship. Season 1 eventually produced three engaged couples — Kimber Gardner and Shannon Raddler, Jada Rashawn and Chris Perry, and Brandin Brosh and Jona Bienko — but the island apparently had better matchmaking credentials than the real world. Once the cameras stopped rolling and everyday life returned, none of the three relationships ultimately became a lasting marriage.
The spin-off, which grew out of the wider Married at First Sight franchise, placed a group of singles together in an idyllic setting and gave them the opportunity to explore relationships without the immediate structure of the main series.
By Decision Day, three couples had chosen to leave engaged, suggesting that the experiment had produced some promising results. In reality, however, their post-show journeys took very different directions, with some former couples apparently maintaining a friendly connection while others seem to have disappeared from each other's lives altogether.
Brandin Brosh and Jona Bienko looked like one of the less obvious pairings during their time on Honeymoon Island. Brandin has since moved into a very different chapter of her life. She found love again with Justin Salazar, and the couple announced in December 2025 that they were expecting a child.

Brandin began her professional journey as the owner and operator of Charisma, a boutique she launched in June 2014. She later became involved with the City of Ocean Springs Board of Directors at the Ocean Springs Chamber in December 2017 and took ownership of Gulf Coast Distributing, LLC in March 2018. She has also been associated with Golden Our Athleisure and Lifestyle, adding another business venture to an already fairly packed CV.
These days, Brandin's priorities appear to be centred much more around family than reality television. She has maintained a close relationship with her parents and has also continued to make room for her beloved dog, Cotten.
Her post-Honeymoon Island story is therefore less about trying to revive an old reality-TV romance and more about building a life that looks considerably different from the one viewers saw on Lifetime.
Jona Bienko, meanwhile, has continued to carve out his own path as an Automotive Broker and has developed a sizeable social-media following, with more than 8,300 Instagram followers according to the information available.
His feed also reflects his enthusiasm for the outdoors, motorcycles and fitness. He has shared plenty of interest in hiking and maintaining an active lifestyle, suggesting that his idea of a relaxing weekend probably involves considerably more movement than lying beside a hotel pool.
In May 2026, Jona also revealed that he was recovering from complicated back surgeries. Despite that setback, he has continued to focus on his health and fitness. His post-show life is a reminder that the reality-TV chapter was only one part of his story, and perhaps not even the most interesting one once the cameras were gone.
The situation is rather different for Kimber Gardner and Shannon Raddler. Their relationship developed around some important conversations from the beginning, particularly when Kimber explained that she had previously been engaged and that her former fiancé had a child.
She was also clear that she did not want children herself, while Shannon had questions about whether their differing views on parenthood could eventually create difficulties.
Rather than ignoring the issue, the pair discussed their expectations and continued exploring their relationship. They ultimately became engaged on Decision Day, appearing ready to see whether their connection could develop beyond the island. Unfortunately, the engagement did not translate into a lasting relationship once they returned to normal life.
Kimber and Shannon appear to have lost touch, at least publicly. They no longer follow each other on Instagram, and there is little visible indication of an ongoing friendship. Kimber originally comes from Las Vegas, Nevada, and worked as a Medical Sales Representative when she appeared on the series. She has always appeared to enjoy spending time outdoors, including hiking and walking through wooded areas, while her dog remains an important part of her life.
Since Honeymoon Island, however, Kimber has largely stepped away from the spotlight and has not publicly shared many details about her current professional or personal circumstances.
Shannon has taken a more visible route since his reality-TV appearance. He began his career at Comcast in July 2007 in a Retention/Sales role, leaving in 2012 before moving through several other positions.
In May 2016, he joined Aqua Pharmaceuticals as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, remaining there until July 2024. He has since developed a presence as a content creator on Instagram, where he has attracted more than 12,000 followers.
Shannon also appeared on Married at First Sight: Second Chances, giving him another connection to the franchise after his Honeymoon Island experience. Fitness remains another major interest, with regular gym sessions forming part of his routine. As for Kimber, however, the two appear to have gone their separate ways without maintaining the social-media connection that might have suggested otherwise.
Then there is Jada Rashawn and Chris Perry, whose relationship arguably looked among the more naturally comfortable pairings of the season.
From their earliest conversations, the two seemed pleasantly surprised by how easily they connected. They also discovered that they shared similar hopes for the future, including wanting children, which gave their relationship an apparent foundation beyond the initial attraction.
That connection eventually led to an engagement at the Final Decision. For viewers, it was one of those moments where the experiment appeared to have delivered exactly what it promised: two people had met unexpectedly, found common ground and decided to take the relationship into the real world.
Unfortunately, Jada and Chris did not remain together. Unlike Kimber and Shannon, however, there appears to be less evidence of a complete social-media break. They still follow one another on Instagram, suggesting that whatever happened after the show did not necessarily result in a dramatic falling-out. Jada has built an impressive career since appearing on the series. By September 2024, Jada had become a Multimedia Reporter at KSAT, where she continues to work in San Antonio, Texas. Her career has therefore developed considerably since viewers first encountered her looking for a relationship on a tropical island. Away from work, she enjoys being an involved aunt to her niece and nephews, spending time with her father and relaxing with her dog.
Chris Perry has taken perhaps the most dramatically different career route of the former couples. During Honeymoon Island, he worked as a Personal Trainer and Youth Counselor. Since then, he has increasingly focused on entertainment and digital content, particularly through music and social media.
Chris has released songs including “Country Boy”, “Big Country” and “Country Daddy”, while also building a substantial online audience. His Instagram following has grown beyond 2.8 million, with much of his content focusing on love, relationships and personal observations. His YouTube channel, Chris GQ Perry TV, has also attracted more than 343,000 subscribers.
The contrast between the three couples is what makes the Honeymoon Island aftermath particularly interesting. Brandin and Jona appear to have moved on amicably, with Brandin now raising a family with Justin while Jona continues his career and outdoor pursuits.
Kimber and Shannon seem to have drifted apart completely, at least based on their public social-media presence. Jada and Chris also went their separate ways, although their continued Instagram connection suggests a more cordial ending.
