A Sudden But Respectful Departure
According to the official statement, discussions had been ongoing as the group looked ahead to their upcoming 20th anniversary.
Amid those talks, Nakajima Yuto expressed his wish to “stand on his own feet” and pursue acting as his main career. Both the company and fellow members decided to respect his decision.
The agency also apologised for the abruptness of the announcement, thanking fans for their support and acknowledging how important Yuto’s presence had been since debut.

I’m deeply sorry to surprise you like this, but I promise to continue working hard to deliver entertainment in a new form.”
He admitted he had leaned on the comfort of the group for many years, but said his passion for acting had grown into something he could no longer ignore.
