| Actor Max Zhang Jin Talks About Surviving Heart Attack, Embracing Family Above All |
Max Zhang Jin, the beloved Chinese actor known for his roles in Call Me by Fire, has shared a chilling personal story about surviving a heart attack while on holiday with his family.
The 51-year-old actor, who has returned for the fifth season of the popular survival show, opened up about the life-threatening experience during the premiere episode, revealing how sheer willpower kept him alive.
Zhang Jin recalled the terrifying moment when he suffered a heart attack while vacationing with his wife, Hong Kong actress Ada Choi, and their three children in April.

He described being just a short distance away from his family, who were queuing for a ride, but being unable to call out for help. "I couldn’t speak at the time. It felt like there was an abyss, and I was falling, with no one to turn to," he said.
In a raw and emotional reflection, Zhang Jin admitted that he thought he wouldn’t survive. "If I really closed my eyes at that time, I knew I wouldn’t make it," he explained, adding that all he could think of was his family.
"I can’t die here, in a foreign country, leaving her (his wife) with three children. What will happen to them without me?" His overwhelming need to survive pushed him to keep going.

Upon returning to Hong Kong, Zhang Jin underwent medical tests that confirmed the gravity of the situation. He could have easily died that day.
"This 'resurrection' has completely changed my perspective on life," Zhang Jin reflected. "It made me realise just how important family is."
Zhang Jin's experience has left him with a renewed sense of appreciation for his loved ones.

"After this brush with death, I truly understand now that family is everything," he shared, emphasising that his desire to live longer for his children is now more than ever his driving force.
"When you’ve almost lost everything, you realise what truly matters."
This shocking revelation has not only touched fans but has also reshaped Zhang Jin’s outlook on life, leading him to cherish the moments spent with his family even more.
