Looks like things are heating up in C-drama land again – the short drama version of The Prisoner of Beauty has locked in its lead pair, and fans are already buzzing. Titled Yield to You, the upcoming web drama will star Caesar Wu Xize and Yue YuTing as the main couple – and by the sounds of it, this might just be the spicy parallel world version we didn’t know we needed.
Caesar Wu, who rose to fame in the latest Meteor Garden remake and recently popped up in Blossoms in Adversity, will finally take centre stage as the male lead Wei Shao.
While he's not exactly known for explosive charisma, he’s been steadily building up his resume since 2018 – and this could be the breakout he’s been waiting for.

Meanwhile, Yue YuTing is no stranger to the short drama format – it's basically her turf at this point.
She’s been a regular face in countless short-form series, so Yield to You sounds like a perfect match for her. She’ll be playing the female lead Xiao Qiao.

The drama is directed by Elsie Zhao (Zhao Xixi) and – brace yourself – it’s set to have 100 episodes. Yep, that’s right. One hundred.
But given it’s a short drama, each episode is likely under 3-4 minutes, so it’ll still be binge-able for fans looking for something fast-paced and full of drama.

Now for the juicy part: this is a spin-off of sorts from The Prisoner of Beauty, the full-length version which aired earlier this year with Song Zuer and Liu Yuning. That one wrapped up in June and has already been crowned one of the best C-dramas of 2025 – high ratings, strong story, and solid fan response.
Yield to You seems to be taking a more steamy, alternate-universe kind of direction compared to the original, and while no exact release date’s been dropped yet, it could be arriving before the year’s up. So don’t be surprised if you end up watching two different versions of the same couple making out in totally different timelines, lol.
