Chinese drama fans are absolutely losing their heads this week after In the Name of Blossom a.k.a Flourished Peony season 2 dropped its trailer, giving us a cheeky glimpse of Li Xian in a shirtless scene that has basically taken over the internet. The historical romance, which is a follow-up to Flourished Peony, landed on screens on 30 June 2025 and brought back the powerhouse duo of Yang Zi and Li Xian, much to everyone’s delight.
This fresh season picks up the tangled romance and political chaos of the Tang Dynasty, but what’s really got folk talking is that blink-and-you-miss-it moment where Yang Zi’s character He Weifang tends to Li Xian’s bare back.
And when we say bare, we mean properly — he’s showing off chiselled abs and chest worthy of a fitness magazine cover. Fans clocked it straight away, flooding social media with comments like, “Xian Ge doesn’t treat us like strangers!” and “While others lie down to rest, he lies down to flaunt those abs!”

Word is, Li Xian went through a hardcore physical transformation for this new chapter. According to World Journal, he dropped his body fat percentage dramatically and sculpted textbook-level muscle to match his dignified royal envoy persona. It shows, honestly — the bloke looks like he walked straight out of a Tang-dynasty calendar shoot.

Even though the shirtless moment is only a short, subtle scene with minimal dialogue, the tension and intimacy with Yang Zi’s character is off the charts. Rumour has it the plot reason might be a combat wound or maybe a bath-time patch-up, but who even cares when the visuals are this spectacular?
