CGM48’s First Generation Bows Out with “Kaze wo Matsu” – Thai Version to Drop This August |
It’s officially the end of an era for CGM48 senior members. The Chiang Mai-based idol group has just announced their first-generation farewell single – a special Thai-language version of “Kaze wo Matsu”, set to drop this August 2025.
Originally performed by Japan’s STU48 as their second single, “Kaze wo Matsu” is known for its wistful vibe and emotionally-charged visuals. Now, CGM48 is giving the song a heartfelt Thai twist as a final send-off to the generation that laid the groundwork for the group since debuting in October 2019.
This single won’t just be another release – it’s the last one to feature all remaining 1st Gen members in the Senbatsu line-up. It's a proper closing chapter, tying together five years of sweat, cheers, and memories.
A Farewell Trilogy of Events
Alongside the single announcement, CGM48’s management also revealed the full farewell event schedule. The final theatre performance is locked in for 2 August, followed by the official graduation ceremony on 3 August. Then, on 24 August, fans will get one last shot to cheer them on at the grand 1st Generation Graduation Concert.

The last-gen Senbatsu line-up brings together members from both Team C and the Trainee pool. These include:
-
Team C: Angel, Champoo, Kaiwan, Kaning, Kyla, Latin, Marmink, Nenie, Pim, Ping, Punch, and Sita
-
Trainees: Fahsai, Jjae, Meen, Mei, and Nena
Each name in that line-up represents years of hard work and loyalty – the ones who stuck around till the very end to carry the group’s identity.
More Than Just a Song
This farewell single isn’t just a track—it’s a memory capsule. The Thai version of “Kaze wo Matsu” is set to be reflective, delicate, and visually stunning, carrying the weight of what CGM48’s first-gen meant to the fans and the group itself. It's the end of a chapter, but also a respectful bow out to a generation that built the house brick by brick.
Fans across the region are already gearing up for an emotional August. With hashtags and tributes flooding social media, the sentiment is clear: this is goodbye, but never forgotten.
