| After Nearly Six Years, Gong Luwen Says Goodbye to AKB48 Team SH |
Gong Luwen, also known by her English name Becca Gong, has officially announced her graduation from the popular Chinese girl group AKB48 Team SH. AKB48 Team SH’s official notice, published by Shanghai Shangyue Culture, confirmed that after repeated discussions with Gong herself, they had reached the difficult decision that she would step away from all group activities as of today.

Gong Luwen first stepped into the spotlight back in 2019 as a second-generation trainee with AKB48 Team SH, before swiftly being promoted to a full member just two months later.
She made her musical debut on the group’s 2019 album 365nichi no Sustainable, performing in the main track “Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai”, and has been a familiar face among the Team SH line-up ever since.
Standing at 155 cm tall, the Pisces-born singer won over plenty of hearts during her years on stage with her bright personality and consistent performances. Supporters are already wishing her the best in her next chapter, whatever that may be.
Though the group will no doubt miss her presence, the statement from management finished on a hopeful note, saying they trust Gong Luwen will have a brilliant future, and encouraging Team SH to keep pushing forward with her dreams in mind.
For now, fans are left with warm memories of Becca Gong’s five-year journey, as they say an emotional farewell to a beloved member of the Team SH family.
