F4 Reunion Buzz Returns – But Vic Chou’s Not Keen on a Cash-Grab Comeback |
The F4 reunion whispers are back on the airwaves again — but if you're expecting a guaranteed 25th anniversary comeback next year, don't get your hopes too high just yet.
Speaking to media recently, Vic Chou (yep, Zai Zai himself) finally addressed the never-ending talk of getting the iconic Meteor Garden boys back together. And in true Vic style, he didn’t sugar-coat a thing.
“I honestly don’t know anything about a reunion happening,” he admitted. “Every year I hear the same thing — people approaching us, people saying there’s interest. I’d love for it to happen, of course I would. But whether it actually will? I really can’t say.”
Vic Chou, who was the youngest of the original F4 members — alongside Jerry Yan, Ken Chu, and Vanness Wu — got candid about why the dream reunion has yet to come to life. And it’s not for lack of offers.
“There’s always some talk, always someone getting in touch,” he said. “But then they disappear, or say they’ll come back with a proper idea — and then nothing happens. It’s been like that every year.”

The Meteor Garden heartthrob, now a respected actor in his own right, didn’t hold back when asked about his personal take on the whole thing.
“I think I’ve got my own expectations for F4,” he said thoughtfully. “If the goal is just to cash in, then honestly, don’t come looking for me. I want it to mean something.”
And in case anyone was wondering whether the other members might be more money-minded, Vic didn’t take the bait — but did throw a bit of classic shade:
“Why ask me? Ask them.”
He went on to explain that the biggest hurdle isn’t bad blood — it’s logistics. The four of them are now all managed by different companies, and syncing up everyone’s schedules and priorities is far from straightforward.
“If someone important, like a big boss, really wanted to get us back together, I’d be up for it,” Vic said with a laugh. “I’m the youngest — I’d just act cute and silly on stage. Why wouldn’t I want to?”
The original F4 debuted off the back of Meteor Garden’s massive success back in 2001 (the show first aired in 1999 in Taiwan but exploded regionally a couple of years later). The group became a full-on cultural phenomenon across Asia — posters, albums, fan meetups, the lot.
Although F4 officially disbanded in 2009, they did reunite once before — at the 2013 CCTV Spring Festival Gala in China, much to fans’ delight. Since then though? Just rumours, rumours, and more rumours.
With 2026 marking the 25th anniversary of the F4 era, fans are crossing fingers for a real comeback. But going by Vic’s words, they’d better hope the reunion comes from the heart — not just the wallet.
