| NGT48 Kenkyuusei Sekinoyama Nagi to Graduate by End of July 2025 |
NGT48 Kenkyuusei member Sekinoyama Nagi has officially announced her graduation from the group. The announcement was made on 14 June 2025 during the evening stage of the “Pajama Drive” theatre performance held at the NGT48 Theatre in Niigata.
Affectionately known to fans as Nagichan, Sekinoyama joined NGT48 as a 4th generation Kenkyuusei (trainee) on 10 December 2023.
In her year and a half with the group, she participated in activities such as the B-side track “Kisetsuhazure no Ice Lemonade” from the single Isshun no Hanabi. Born in Niigata on 9 July 2005, she has built a modest yet heartfelt presence within the group.
In an emotional speech delivered on stage, Sekinoyama expressed deep gratitude for the support she received from fans and fellow members, stating:
"These past 18 months with NGT48 have been filled with irreplaceable experiences. Meeting fans and my fellow generation mates has been the greatest blessing. There were many moments when I struggled to align my hopes with reality, and I began to lose sight of my purpose here. But in those times, it was always the warm voices of our fans and my beloved peers that kept me going. I want to begin living each day more in tune with myself, and learn to love who I am."
"I'm sorry I couldn't always shine as an idol. This graduation is a step forward—please don’t be sad. Thank you truly to everyone who supported and watched over me."
Her final day of activities is currently scheduled for the end of July 2025. Specific details regarding her graduation stage and upcoming appearances will be announced in due course.
NGT48 has also noted that any postponed or refunded events linked to her participation in upcoming singles will be addressed after her graduation.
Sekinoyama’s decision reflects the difficult and deeply personal nature of life as an idol, especially in a competitive and evolving industry. While her time on stage may have been short, the sincerity of her message and the warmth from her supporters are a lasting part of her legacy within the group.
