Louis Cheung and Kay Tse Announce First Joint Concert “The Duality” in Macau, Reflect on Past and Public Response |
Louis Cheung has fans cracking up and cheering all at once after cheekily admitting that he should’ve teamed up with wife Kay Tse way earlier in his career. The two are finally about to take the stage together in their first-ever joint concert, “The Duality”, happening in Macau on 14 June, and let’s just say… the hype is real.
The long-time couple were spotted attending a theatre event recently, looking every bit the star couple. When asked about how their prep for the concert’s going, Louis couldn’t help but laugh: “We’ve been preparing for decades!”

Fair point, to be honest – the two have been married since 2007, and both have had solid solo careers in music and acting. But fans have always wondered: why haven’t they sung together before?
Louis came clean. “Over ten years ago, I actually avoided it. My wife had a much higher status in the music scene, and I didn’t want people saying I was riding on her coattails.”
But now, with his own music career well established, he’s ready to own it – and is even having a laugh at his own expense. “Honestly, I should’ve relied on her years ago!” he said, grinning.
Their one-night-only show at Galaxy Macau is expected to be both a musical and emotional celebration of their bond – as partners in life and now, finally, on stage too.
What About Kay Tse’s Health?

Rumours recently resurfaced about Kay’s health, with reports claiming she was hospitalised for a serious illness early last year and had even undergone emergency surgery. This understandably sparked concern from fans.
Louis addressed the speculation directly, explaining that while Kay has had some health challenges – mainly with her lungs and throat due to past respiratory issues and the flu – there was no major surgery involved.
“She’s had lung problems in the past, including pneumothorax (collapsed lung), and sometimes her vocal cords get damaged from coughing,” Louis said. “There was a time she was hospitalised due to gastritis and some ruptured capillaries, but nothing like the dramatic rumours suggest.”
Not About “Snatching the Queen’s Crown”

And what about those whispers that Kay is eyeing a comeback to reclaim the “music queen” title?
Louis brushed it off with a grin: “Please don’t turn this into some palace drama. Kay isn’t here to fight or compete. Years ago, she was already number one. Now, she makes music for joy, to create what she loves, and to thank her fans. If people want to spin it as a fight for the throne, it’s really unfair to her.”
His words hit just right – a reminder that not every comeback has to be about competition. Sometimes it’s about connection, passion, and just doing what you love with the one you love.
