Zhang Ruonan Clears the Air on Drama Ranking Scandal

Zhang Ruonan Shuts Down Billing Rank Rumours
Zhang Ruonan Breaks Silence on Billing Drama: “I Didn’t Cheat the System”

After swirling rumours caught fire online, actress Zhang Ruonan has finally responded to claims that her team played dirty when it came to billing ranks in her recent dramas Zhan Zhao Adventures and The First Frost.

In a rare official statement, Zhang Ruonan came out swinging — calmly but firmly denying that she or her agency had anything to do with manipulating the cast rankings in these shows.

“The accusations are baseless,” she stated, adding that she’s already taken steps behind the scenes to stop the spread of these false claims.

According to her, she personally got in touch with the drama producers and platform teams to ensure everything’s been submitted properly and transparently.

And sure enough, both production teams have since spoken up — Zhan Zhao Adventures clarified that they hadn’t been involved in making or editing any ranking materials, and The First Frost backed that up by confirming all submitted info was spot-on from the start.

So what’s all this about, anyway?

In the world of Chinese dramas, billing order — basically who gets listed first in posters, press releases, and credit rolls — is a huge deal.

Top billing means more exposure, more promotion, and often more screen time.

So when Zhang Ruonan’s name appeared high up in recent projects, some online voices wondered aloud if someone had “nudged” the rankings in her favour — especially since her popularity’s been climbing steadily, thanks in part to her solid performances.

But Zhang’s having none of it. And with both production teams backing her up, there doesn’t seem to be any actual evidence behind the gossip.

Spotlight on Her Roles

Let’s not forget what Zhang Ruonan actually brings to these dramas.

In Zhan Zhao Adventures, she plays Huo Linglong — not just a pretty face but a strong, clever character who escapes a forced marriage and ends up fighting corruption with the legendary Zhan Zhao and the ever-cunning Bai Yutang.

It’s a juicy wuxia role that lets her show off her acting range, and fans have loved it.

In The First Frost, she takes on the role of Wen Yifan, another central character who keeps the storyline moving and adds emotional depth to the drama’s ensemble.

It wasn’t just a background part — she genuinely had screen time and influence in the plot.

Setting the Record Straight

Zhang Ruonan’s agency has now joined her in taking firm legal and PR steps to prevent the misinformation from spreading further.

So, unless actual proof surfaces (which, let’s be honest, looks unlikely), this seems more like online noise than anything grounded in reality.

In short: Zhang Ruonan’s not trying to rig the system — she’s just doing her job well. And maybe that’s what’s really got people talking.
