A fan of actress Zeng Li, previously involved in a dispute over merchandise resale accusations, has publicly addressed ongoing speculation and clarified key details surrounding the incident.
In a new statement posted online, the fan denied being sued or reported to the police by Zeng Li’s studio and explained the context behind their earlier apology.
The controversy began when the fan accused Zeng Li’s team of reselling gifted merchandise, specifically limited-edition badges.
However, after discovering inaccuracies in the original claims, the fan issued a public apology, stating that the initial post had been based on unverified assumptions.
The fan has now emphasized that the apology letter was solely for spreading false information in earlier posts and not due to any legal pressure from the studio.
According to the fan’s latest clarification, Zeng Li’s studio did file a police report, but it was in response to the theft of badges—not to pursue legal action against fans.

The fan said they were merely contacted by authorities as a witness to provide a timeline of events and help verify the value of the missing items.
“I found out on March 26 that Zeng Li was not aware of the situation,” the fan wrote.
“She did not instruct any staff members to sell the badges, and the friend I asked to help never successfully reached Zeng Li or the studio’s manager.”
This clarification appears aimed at cooling online tensions and dispelling persistent rumours about supposed lawsuits or malicious intent from Zeng Li’s team.
It underscores the need for careful verification before spreading claims, especially when public figures are involved.
