Yvonne Yung Reveals Why She and Her Husband Have Been Separated for 3 Years

Veteran actress Weng Hong aka Yvonne Yung just casually dropped a bit of a bombshell online — she and her husband Liu GuanTing have actually been living apart for three whole years

Yep, since 2022! But before you start thinking drama or divorce, hold up — because according to Weng, this whole long-distance arrangement has actually been great for their relationship.

In a recent video she posted on Xiaohongshu, the 57-year-old star opened up about the decision.

It all started when their daughter, Crystal, got ready to head abroad for her studies.

Her husband had some overseas business to take care of anyway, and Weng herself was constantly travelling around different cities in China for filming.

So, after a bit of heart-to-heart chat, the couple decided to live separately — him abroad with their daughter, and her staying focused on her career at home.

And guess what?

Weng Hong says she doesn’t regret it one bit

In fact, she reckons the time apart has actually sweetened their bond.

“Being apart made things better — it’s like a second honeymoon,” she said, adding that respecting each other’s pace and lifestyle was key.

“Marriage shouldn’t feel like you're tied together with a rope. It’s more like two people climbing their own mountains, but always leaving a light on in the camp for the other person.”

Weng Hong also mentioned that Liu has found a rhythm he enjoys in his overseas life, and they’ve both learned to trust and support each other from a distance — sounds kind of poetic, doesn’t it?

But not everyone’s buying the fairytale.

Some netizens were quick to question the whole setup.

“Three years isn’t exactly a ‘short break’,” one commented.

Others said it sounded more like a quiet separation than a romantic arrangement, accusing celebs of sugar-coating things to control the narrative.

Still, Weng Hong’s not bothered by the chatter.

She’s standing by her words and experience — saying marriage isn’t about physical proximity, but about emotional connection and respect.

So, is this the future of modern love? Or just a very polished PR story? Either way, it’s got people talking.
