Tokyo Girls’ Style to Disband in 2026 — The Curtain Falls on a 15-Year Journey

And just like that, another legendary chapter in J-pop history is about to close. Tokyo Girls’ Style — the group that’s been singing, dancing and shining their way through the idol scene since 2010 — have officially announced they’ll be disbanding on 31 March 2026.

The news came during the encore of their 15th anniversary live show at Zepp Shinjuku on 3 May, where the girls broke the heartfelt news to their fans (Astalight, we’re sending hugs).

Their final performance will take place at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo next spring — a farewell concert that’s sure to be both dazzling and tear-soaked.

In the meantime, they’re not disappearing just yet.

They’ve got a full schedule of one-man lives lined up at SHIBUYA PLEASURE PLEASURE, continuing from June all the way to their last bow.

And as if that wasn’t enough, they're dropping their self-titled 7th album “東京女子流” on 30 July, with a brand-new single “導火線、フラッシュバック” being released ahead of it.

Basically, they’re giving it everything they've got right up to the end.

The girls shared individual messages that’ll absolutely wreck your heart in the best way.

Tokyo Girls’ Style Confirms Final Concert and Disbandment

Yamabe Miyu opened up about how Tokyo Girls’ Style became her everything — from nervous rookie to seasoned performer, she poured 15 years of dreams, sweat, and love into the group.

“This has been my youth, my passion, my whole life,” she wrote.

Arai Hitomi remembered her pre-debut days full of auditions and uncertainty, and how TGS gave her the first shot that changed everything.

She called their music “a place where I could be confident, even when I wasn’t confident in myself.”

She’s not sure what comes next, but she promises to keep shining.

Nakae Yuri got real about the pressure and expectations that came with growing up in the spotlight, but she also called the past 15 years “a treasure nothing can replace.”

Her words were messy and raw — and all the more beautiful for it.

And Shoji Mei, who started this journey at just 12 years old, said it best: “Tokyo Girls’ Style gave me dreams, purpose, and a reason to grow.”

She’s walking away grateful, not gloomy — determined to make every remaining show count.

For fans, this announcement stings — but it’s also a chance to celebrate everything TGS have stood for. They weren’t just another idol group.

They had soul. They took risks. They did things their way.

And for 15 years, they were proof that pop music could be both fun and fierce.

So here’s to Tokyo Girls’ Style — to the music, the memories, and the magic.

The countdown has begun, but the final curtain hasn’t fallen just yet. Let’s dance with them one last time.
