Nakagawa Shoko, our beloved “Shokotan”, just turned 40 and she’s marking the milestone with some truly heartwarming news—she’s pregnant with her first child!
The multi-talented singer, actress, illustrator and proud otaku announced on Children’s Day (5 May) via her socials that a “new life” is growing inside her.
In a handwritten message, she shared, “I’ve been blessed with a new life in my belly. Hitting level 40 really feels like a major turning point.”
Fans will remember that Shoko-chan tied the knot last year in April 2023 with a fellow animal-loving, non-celebrity man around her age.
She’s always kept things real and lowkey, and this time was no different—gently updating everyone on how she’s been adjusting to changes in her body while continuing work with the guidance of her doctor.
“I’ve been careful with my health every day, hoping everything goes smoothly. I’m really looking forward to connecting all these feelings and experiences,” she wrote with her usual mix of warmth and optimism.
But that’s not all—on top of baby news, Nakagawa Shoko also dropped a bit of a business bombshell.
She’s launched her own personal agency called “miracle Inc.”, stepping into a new era of independence while still keeping close ties with her longtime home, Watanabe Entertainment, through a business partnership.
As always, Shokotan’s charging ahead full of spirit: “While preparing to become a mum, I’ll carry this new responsibility and keep doing my best with even more power!”
Whether it's her singing, YouTube, or other projects, she made it clear—she’s not slowing down anytime soon.
