DREAMING MONSTER’s Yuu-chan Hits ¥1M Birthday Goal, Steps Back from Stage for Egg Freezing Break |
DREAMING MONSTER’s original purple queen, 36-year-old idol Matsumoto Yuuko (aka Yuu-chan), just smashed her crowdfunding goal for her birthday bash, raking in a cool ¥1 million.
But now, she’s taking a quick breather from dancing and live performances starting 30 May 2025 — all for a pretty personal and powerful reason: she’s freezing her eggs.

Yuu-chan, who’s been with DREAMING MONSTER since day one, dropped the news in a heartfelt statement on 28 May. The short hiatus comes on doctor’s advice, as she needs to limit intense physical activity during the egg retrieval process.
She’s stepping off the stage for about 2 to 3 weeks, but fans can still expect her to pop up in other idol activities — minus the jumping and twirling.
“Thanks to everyone’s support, I’ve been able to move forward with freezing my eggs! To do it properly, I’ve got to ease off the dancing for a bit. Once I’m back, I’ll give it my all again. Thanks for backing my future — both as an idol and beyond,” said Yuuko in her personal message.

At 36 years old, Matsumoto Yuuko’s decision is getting loads of praise for being both open and forward-thinking. She’s one of the few idols of her generation still going strong, and this move shows she's playing the long game — in her own words, balancing her idol life and future dreams.
Fans have been flooding her with messages of support since the announcement, especially after seeing how genuinely grateful she is.

DREAMING MONSTER’s management also chimed in with their thanks, saying they were “deeply touched by all the messages and donations” that made her birthday dream a reality — and this health journey possible too.
Yuu-chan might be stepping back from the spotlight for a hot minute, but don’t expect her to slow down for long. She’s already talking about hitting the stage again once she’s fully cleared. So if you’re a fan of the purple member with that steady smile and old-school idol grit, hang tight — the comeback’s already in the works.
