Xiu Jie Kai Lies About Work Trip to Macau, Wife Says "Don’t Come Back!"

Shiou Chieh-Kai aka Xiu Jie Kai found himself in a bit of cheeky trouble after secretly jetting off to Macau for a one-day solo trip—without telling his wife, actress Alyssa Chia.

What started as a light-hearted prank turned into a viral moment, thanks to a video he shared on 14 April titled “What Would Make My Wife Angry”.

The couple, married since 2015 and parents to two daughters, Bubu and Bo妞, are known for their playful dynamic.

But this time, Xiu Jie Kai took things a step further by pretending to have “work” scheduled, while actually heading off for a surprise escape.

The video shows him visibly nervous at the airport, worried his little plan might land him in hot water. But once in Macau, the worry faded as he enjoyed sightseeing and food, seemingly guilt-free—until it was time to call home.

He sent Alyssa a picture of his meal, followed by a video call. When asked to guess where he was, she guessed Yangmingshan at first.

But when the iconic Ruins of St. Paul appeared behind him, her expression changed instantly. “You're in Macau!?” she exclaimed in disbelief.

What followed was a mock interrogation. Alyssa questioned why he didn’t tell her beforehand, to which Xiu casually replied, “I didn’t want to tell you—I wanted to see if you’d be angry.”

He assured her he’d return home by evening, but Alyssa wasn't having it: “You’re done! Don’t come back. Stay there!”

Things escalated when she found out he had labelled the day as “work” on their shared schedule. “You’re so low!” she shouted with a mix of laughter and disbelief.

She then jokingly demanded a bribe: “Buy me a LABUBU, and maybe you can come back.”

To calm the storm, Xiu Jie Kai went and bought not one, but three boxes of the popular collectible. Fans couldn't get enough of the whole scenario.

“This is how you secure peace at home,” one commented. Another joked, “This plan was kind of sweet actually,” while others teased him about needing a spare bed—preferably next to a motherboard or calculator.

With a mixture of mischief and love, Xiu Jie Kai and Alyssa Chia once again proved why they’re one of Taiwan’s most entertaining couples to watch.
