Back in February 2025, GooChan quietly announced a breakup with his girlfriend of seven years, Hong Kong influencer Samantha Kwok (芷希).
No drama, no reason given — just your standard “we’ve gone separate ways” post. But netizens weren’t buying it. Rumours of cheating started swirling almost immediately.
Turns out, they weren’t wrong.
A Threads post from earlier this week blew the lid off everything. Titled bluntly, “Famous Hong Kong indie singer-songwriter scum GooChan Chan Chak Hung cheating on his girlfriend of seven years, caught with 18-year-old,” the post came with damning evidence: a short video and an audio recording of what appears to be the very moment GooChan was caught.

In the audio clip, a woman — allegedly Samantha — confronts a man, believed to be GooChan, after discovering him in bed with a much younger woman.
The video, reportedly taken by Samantha’s friend, shows GooChan knocking on a bedroom door and trying to coax someone out.
Moments later, as he and another woman enter the room, the camera captures the face of the girl he was allegedly cheating with — an 18-year-old.

The post spread like wildfire, sparking outrage across social media.
Not long after, GooChan broke his silence on Instagram. In a written apology, he confirmed the cheating allegations, apologising for betraying Samantha’s trust and announcing an indefinite hiatus from his music career.

He also expressed regret to his friends and professional collaborators for the fallout.
But the internet isn’t feeling too forgiving.
Fans and non-fans alike are dragging him in the comments, calling him everything from “a fraud” to “just another typical male artist who can’t keep it in his trousers.”
