Speed and Love Wraps Filming: Yu Shu Xin and He Yu Serve Serious Feels Across Bangkok, Hainan and Nanjing

If you're like me and live for a good modern romance drama that actually sets your pulse racing instead of putting you to sleep, Speed and Love might just be your next obsession.

Starring Esther Yu ShuXin and He Yu, this upcoming C-drama has officially wrapped filming, and to celebrate, the team dropped a special Making Of video giving us a peek behind the scenes – and it's got me even more hyped.

Adapted from the novel Double Track, Speed and Love is one of those stories where the title pretty much tells you what you're in for: full throttle emotions.

Yu Shuxin plays Jiang Mu and He Yu is Jin Chao – two childhood 'siblings' (no blood relation, before you ask!) who were torn apart after their parents divorced when they were kids.

Fast forward to adulthood, and when they reunite... let's just say there's nothing brotherly about the way they look at each other now.

Jiang Mu's heart-eyes are so obvious it's adorable, and Jin Chao, with his tough guy act hiding a heart made of absolute fluff, is ready to risk it all.

The drama's behind-the-scenes reel captures the entire mood perfectly, showing their journey filming across gritty, bustling Bangkok, the dreamy beaches of Hainan, and wrapping things up in scenic Nanjing.

It’s the kind of visual feast that makes you want to pack your bags and chase after your own drama romance (if only!).

What makes Speed and Love feel extra exciting is the sheer vibe it's giving off.

Lately, most modern C-romances have been all pastel colours, fairy-tale sweetness, and sugary meet-cutes (no shade to Ski into Love or The Best Thing – loved them too).

Even The First Frost, while a bit moodier, was more slow burn than electric.

But Speed and Love feels different – like it's got a shot of adrenaline running through its veins.

High emotions, high stakes, and a dash of reckless love.

I'm absolutely here for it.

Synopsis:

When their parents' divorce split them apart at the age of nine, Jiang Mu and Jin Chao's lives were thrown onto separate paths.

She grew up surrounded by textbooks and late-night study sessions, while he had to fight just to survive.

Worlds apart, they both carried the memories of the other quietly in their hearts.

Years later, fate brings them back together – and this time, they’re ready to throw caution to the wind for each other’s dreams.

Quick Facts:

  • Duration: 45 minutes per ep

  • Broadcast Network: iQIYI

  • Filming Locations: Thailand (Bangkok and surrounding areas), Hainan, and Nanjing
