Hold onto your headphones, PINKY. — IMP. is back with a groove! The seven-member powerhouse is set to drop their 4th single “Cheek to Cheek” on June 23, and it’s already making waves thanks to a cheeky beat and some heartfelt meaning.
The title track isn’t just another banger – it’s also the theme song for member Taiga Suzuki’s new drama, Sannin Fuufu. Talk about double duty!
With its slick dance beat and positive message, “Cheek to Cheek” is shaping up to be the soundtrack for anyone needing a little push to face life head-on — and maybe even with a little shoulder shimmy.
And get this: the song dropped digitally and hit YouTube on April 7, so fans have already been getting cheek-to-cheek with it for a while. If you haven’t checked it out yet, now’s the time.
The upcoming physical release is coming in three flavours:
-
Limited Edition A includes the music video and its making-of on Blu-ray
-
Limited Edition B gives you a cheeky peek behind the scenes of the cover and booklet shoot
-
And of course, a good ol’ Regular Edition for the purists out there
Each version’s got its own sparkle, so good luck picking just one.
The members recently sat down for a candid (and hilariously chaotic) interview where they dished out everything from their favourite parts of the song to shirtless tour habits — yes, really.
Tsubaki's abs are apparently a regular fixture backstage these days. Some members are impressed; others just want him to put a jumper on.
When it comes to the song itself, everyone had their moments. From catchy lines like “A to Z” and “Okay okay, uh-huh” to subtle MV details like Yokohara’s deadpan expressions or Tsubaki’s sideways dancing shot, each member has their favourite frame — and fans are lapping it up.
For choreography, the lads say it’s all about the fingers and the face. The dance might look simple, but pulling it off with a straight face? That’s where the magic is.
The release also marks a milestone moment for Taiga Suzuki, who admitted he was genuinely chuffed that Cheek to Cheek got chosen as the theme song for his drama.
He says the lyrics were written to reflect the show’s storyline, so fans will get double the impact watching both side-by-side.
And while some members are soaking in hot spring essence in their baths or battling monsters in their downtime, others are setting big goals — from passing a colour coordination test to designing their own stage outfits.
Meanwhile, Tsubaki’s dreaming of a solo sauna trip to Finland (yep, really).
The group also took a moment to shout out fans starting a new life chapter this April.
Their message? Don’t stress — this isn’t the final boss level. Take it slow, make some mates, and do your own thing. Solid advice, honestly.
So whether you’re here for the beats, the drama, or the endless backstage banter, Cheek to Cheek is shaping up to be an IMP. essential. And come June 23, you might just find yourself humming “cheek to cheek, cheek, cheek to cheek” without realising.
