Here’s something fun for Thai anime fans – Book Kasidet Plookphol and Cherprang Areekul are officially joining the iconic Detective Conan universe!

The popular Thai duo are making their voice acting debut in the latest film of the long-running franchise, Detective Conan The Movie 28: One-eyed Flashback.

Yep, you read that right – our homegrown talents are lending their voices to the Japanese anime mega-hit, and it’s causing quite the buzz.

Book Kasidet, known for his swoon-worthy performances in Thai dramas, will voice the character Hasebe Rikuo – a broody police officer with a hidden past buried under a snowy backdrop.

Expect serious vibes and mystery from this one.

Meanwhile, ex-BNK48 member Cherprang will step into the role of Tsuburai Madoka, a cryptic woman wrapped in secrets – also set in the snow-covered setting that defines this movie’s chilling tone (literally and figuratively).

The film premiered in Japan on 18 April and is set to hit Thai cinemas on 24 April – so get your popcorn ready.

This marks the very first time both Book and Cherprang are trying their hand (or should we say, voice?) at anime dubbing, making this a pretty special milestone in their careers.

The news dropped via social media on Saturday (18 April) through official pages like SF Cinema, Major Group, and JAM Thailand.

Not long after, both Book and Cherprang reposted the announcement, sparking excitement from fans across the region.

To top it off, there’ll be a glitzy gala premiere at Paragon Cineplex, Siam Paragon at 6PM local time – and you can bet fans will be there in full force.

So whether you’re a Detective Conan die-hard or just here for the star power, this crossover moment is definitely one for the books.

Tonboriday will keep you posted – maybe we’ll even see a behind-the-scenes clip or two soon? Stay tuned.
