Sad news for J-pop fans—Mazari has just announced on X/Twitter that Kokoro Urin has passed away on 24 Feb 2025. The announcement came today, leaving fans in shock.
Kokoro Urin, also known as Otonashi Urin in her Miracle Fanfare! days, was a founding member of Mazari.
She had been part of the scene since 2022, joining MiraFan before making her mark with Mazari.
Born in Osaka, this Scorpio idol was known for her deep lyrics and haunting aesthetics.
Her discography with Mazari included intense digital singles like Omajinai, Isho, and Mental Wrist Cut.
Fans always felt her music had an eerie beauty, and now, looking back, it all feels even more bittersweet.
Standing at 159cm tall, Kokoro Urin’s presence in the J-pop world was far bigger than her height.
Her signature pink member colour and emotional performances made her a standout. She graduated from Miracle Fanfare! in Sept 2024 but kept pushing forward with Mazari.
Right now, details about the cause of death aren’t clear, but tributes are already pouring in from fans and fellow idols alike. Many are revisiting her music, finding new meaning in her lyrics.
As a result of Urin’s passing, the agency behind Mazari, MAD’S iNK, will suspend all activity: including SNS posting and live performances for Mazari, MADMED and Chicha Med.
