Asahi Ends Yoshizawa Ryo's Deal Amid Trespass Scandal

On 7 January 2025, Asahi Group Holdings confirmed the termination of their contract with actor Yoshizawa Ryo following allegations of trespassing into his neighbour’s apartment while intoxicated.

The incident, revealed in media reports on 6 January, has led to an ongoing police investigation.

Asahi promptly removed all PR materials featuring Yoshizawa Ryo, who had been endorsing their product, "Asahi Super Dry DRY CRYSTAL," since October 2023.

The company cited the case's nature and their identity as a beverage brand as key reasons for the contract's termination.

Meanwhile, Ryo Yoshizawa’s agency, AMUSE, clarified the situation.

They confirmed the neighbour’s apartment was unlocked, and Yoshizawa Ryo entered without force or misrepresentation.

He reportedly used the bathroom and left after five minutes. No injuries or property damage occurred.

Decisions regarding Yoshizawa Ryo’s future work are pending discussions with relevant parties.

It remains uncertain if he will address the public or hold a press conference regarding the matter. The incident has sparked widespread debate on personal accountability for public figures.
