Wang Kaimu has become the latest Chinese entertainment star to find himself at the centre of relationship speculation after paparazzi footage captured the actor spending an evening with a woman believed by several online accounts to be producer Zhang Shiyu. The video quickly spread across Chinese social media, reigniting discussions over celebrity privacy and whether a shared dinner and matching clothes are enough to convince the internet that romance is officially in the air.
The discussion follows earlier paparazzi hints that a highly popular actor born between 1990 and 1994 was reportedly in a relationship. At the time, the identity remained a mystery, with online users attempting to match every clue to their favourite stars.
Now, many believe those earlier teasers were pointing towards Wang Kaimu, although no official confirmation has been provided. According to footage released on Weibo, Wang Kaimu was first seen finishing an event and saying goodbye to fans before later collecting a woman by car.

The pair were then filmed heading to dinner, where they reportedly spent much of the evening chatting comfortably. One detail that immediately caught the attention of internet detectives was that both appeared to be wearing matching tops, a fashion choice that quickly became the centrepiece of countless online discussions.
Apparently, wearing similar clothes now qualifies as evidence worthy of a full investigation. After the meal, the pair were driven back to a residential complex by a designated driver.

Paparazzi footage showed them entering the building together late at night, with reports claiming Wang Kaimu was not seen leaving again before filming ended. While that sequence has fuelled widespread dating rumours, the publicly available footage does not appear to show obvious romantic gestures such as holding hands, hugging or kissing.
Several entertainment accounts have identified the woman as Zhang Shiyu, a producer known for projects including Locked Love for Three Lifetimes and Sixth Strategy.

For many outside the short drama (vertical series) community, the rumour has unexpectedly introduced them to Wang Kaimu's career. Born on 21 May 1993 in Changzhi, Shanxi Province, the 188-centimetre-tall performer first built a successful modelling career before moving into acting.
