Japanese actor and idol Yoshizawa Kaname has addressed ongoing curiosity about his love life, confirming he is currently single and focused on work. The Genin wa Jibun ni Aru member spoke candidly during a local media interview while promoting his latest drama Countdown to Yes, offering a rare glimpse into how he views relationships, commitment and the future.
For fans who have long speculated about whether the rising star has a girlfriend, Yoshizawa Kaname kept his answer simple and direct.
“No, I’m not dating anyone at the moment,” he said with a laugh. “Right now my schedule is completely filled with work.”
The actor explained that the demands of filming and preparing upcoming projects leave little room for maintaining a relationship.
“I have a lot of things to do,” he added.
“Even if I did have a partner, there would probably be very little time to talk, even through my phone, let alone meet regularly. That wouldn’t be fair to the other person.”
Still, Yoshizawa Kaname did not dismiss the possibility of romance entirely. He said relationships may happen naturally when the timing is right.
“Maybe it’s something that should just flow naturally,” he said calmly. “But for now, it’s not something I’m thinking about.”
The actor also spoke openly about what he values most in a partner, emphasising that character matters far more to him than appearance.
“Out of everything, I think the most important thing is a woman I can respect and trust,” Yoshizawa Kaname explained.
“If I can’t respect someone or trust them, I probably won’t develop feelings for them. Those two things are priceless.”
He continued by stressing that loyalty and mutual respect are the foundations of any lasting relationship.
“A relationship won’t work without those things,” he said. “Respect and trust create stability. Without them, even strong feelings won’t last.”
The comments offer a clear picture of Yoshizawa Kaname’s approach to romance. While still young, he appears to view relationships with long-term commitment in mind rather than casual dating.
In fact, the actor even spoke about his hopes for the future, revealing he imagines a comfortable and happy life with a future wife.
“One day I want to live a luxurious, comfortable and happy life with my wife,” he said frankly.
