| Unfollow Rumours and 9-Month Gap: What’s Really Going On With Bai Jingting and Song Yi (Photo: Weibo) |
Bai Jingting and Song Yi are once again dominating the Chinese hot search after eagle-eyed netizens spotted what looked like a “same background” restaurant photo posted months apart. Add in claims that Song Yi may have unfollowed Bai Jingting, and the long-running breakup rumours have officially entered a new chapter.
The conversation reignited when Song Yi uploaded a selfie on 7 February 2026. Behind her was a beige textured wall and large window setting that looked strikingly similar to a restaurant photo Bai Jingting had shared on 20 May 2025.
Within hours, hashtags linking the two names shot up the trending charts, with “Bai Jingting Song Yi same restaurant” and “Song Yi seems to have unfollowed Bai Jingting” spreading rapidly across platforms like Douyin.
However, timing is everything.
The two posts are separated by more than eight months. While some netizens were quick to connect the dots and suggest the pair might still be quietly together, others pointed out the obvious: the photos were taken in completely different cities.

Bai Jingting’s original photo came from a brand event he attended in Chengdu as a Louis Vuitton ambassador at THE HALL venue. Song Yi’s recent post, meanwhile, was traced by fans to a HALO SOUL COFFEE branch in Qingdao.
Although both locations share similar interior design elements under the same brand umbrella, they are separate stores over 1,500 kilometres apart.
The so-called “same restaurant” theory quickly shifted into what many are calling a classic case of online overanalysis.

Still, the speculation did not stop there.
Some netizens argued that deliberately posting from the same brand location could be a subtle signal that the relationship is ongoing but low-key.
Others countered that trendy cafés often use standardised décor, and matching backgrounds do not equal romance.
Comments ranged from “They’re still sweet but secretive” to “If this counts as dating proof, half of us are in multiple relationships.”
The unfollow rumour added more fuel.
Online chatter claimed that Song Yi had quietly removed Bai Jingting from her following list.
Screenshots circulated rapidly, though neither side has addressed the claim directly.

In previous months, Song Yi had also posted several “single lifestyle” themed updates, which some interpreted as hints.
Meanwhile, Bai Jingting’s studio reportedly denied dating rumours back in September 2025.
Back in January 2026, paparazzo Liu Dachui claimed during a livestream that the pair had “basically broken up”, citing disagreements over marriage timing.
According to his statement, Song Yi was leaning towards a more settled future, while Bai Jingting remained career-focused.
However, as with all gossip claims, there was no official confirmation.
The two actors first sparked dating rumours after starring together in the 2022 historical hit Destined. Their on-screen chemistry quickly translated into off-screen speculation.
Paparazzi once reported that Bai Jingting had visited Song Yi’s hometown and met her parents, further strengthening the narrative of a reel-to-real romance.
Yet, despite years of rumours, neither Bai Jingting nor Song Yi has ever publicly confirmed a relationship.
Interestingly, since mid-2025, the pair have had zero public interaction.
No joint appearances, no birthday posts, no visible social media exchanges.
For some fans, that silence speaks volumes. For others, it simply reflects two busy actors focused on their own projects.
Fan reactions are clearly split into camps:
The “Still Together” Camp believes the restaurant background similarity is too coincidental. They argue that celebrities often communicate subtly through shared aesthetics and timing. Some even call it “low-key sugar dropping” for loyal supporters.
The “It’s Over” Camp highlights the nine-month gap between posts, the lack of interaction, the unfollow rumour, and previous studio denials. To them, this is simply another example of fans reading too much into routine social updates.
The “Let Them Be” Camp takes a more neutral stance, urging people to focus on the actors’ work instead of their private lives. They point out that matching café interiors are hardly concrete evidence of anything.
At this stage, everything remains speculation.

No official response has been given regarding the matching background photos or the alleged unfollow. Without confirmation from either Bai Jingting or Song Yi, the narrative remains entirely driven by online discussion.
What this episode really highlights is how quickly ordinary details can turn into trending relationship debates in the digital era.
A background wall, a café check-in, or a change in profile following list can instantly become headline material. Whether it is a genuine hint or simply coincidence, the “same restaurant” incident has once again proven how invested netizens remain in the Bai Song storyline.
So what do you think? Is this a subtle sign they are still quietly together, or just another case of time-space misinterpretation blown out of proportion?
