Yang Mi to sign Guo Junchen after Alan Yu Menglong tragedy

There’s a fair bit of chatter flying about lately — apparently, Yang Mi’s up to something again. The top actress, who waved goodbye to her old home Jiaxing Media back in 2023, might be recruiting actor Guo Junchen under her shiny new venture, Tianyi Entertainment.

Word is, this move isn’t just business — it’s personal.

Yang Mi Preventing Another Yu Menglong? Guo Junchen Rumoured to Join Her Agency
Yang Mi Reportedly Eyeing Guo Junchen for Tianyi Entertainment — Fans Say She’s “Saving Another Yu Menglong”

After the tragic death of actor Yu Menglong last month, fans and insiders have been drawing comparisons.

Yang Mi once worked closely with him in Eternal Love (三生三世十里桃花) and, according to whispers from back then, even tried to bring him under her management wing but never got the chance.

Now, the buzz says she’s making sure another promising lad doesn’t face the same pressures or mishandling that Yu did.

Tianyi Entertainment’s Artist List Revealed

Tianyi Entertainment, co-founded by Yang Mi and her mum, is said to focus on artist management and film/TV production.

An internal list sent fans into detective mode, with a few familiar names popping up — Lin Gengxin, Wang Youshuo, Zheng Hewei Zi, and Guo Xiaodong among them.

What really grabbed everyone’s attention, though, was the mention of Guo Junchen

For now, his status is only marked as a “business cooperation” — not a full management deal — but that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from spinning.

Fans reckon Yang Mi could be testing the waters first, possibly waiting for the right moment to bring him fully under her company’s wing.

Yang Mi’s Way of Doing Things

If there’s one thing people respect Yang Mi for, it’s the way she runs her business.

When she first founded Jiaxing Media, she made a point of saying her artists wouldn’t have to deal with the ugly side of showbiz — no forced socialising, no “unspoken rules,” none of that nonsense.

And it worked.

Under her leadership, Jiaxing went from a small studio to one of China’s biggest entertainment houses, launching big names like Dilraba Dilmurat.

So, if she’s planning to take Guo Junchen under her guidance now, it’s no wonder fans are calling it a “rescue move.”

Fans’ Take

Online, fans are already buzzing with optimism. “Yang Mi’s got a good head for this stuff — she knows what’s right for her people,” one Weibo user commented.

Another joked, “If Guo Junchen signs with Tianyi, he’s basically got plot armour now.”

It’s hard to tell how much of it’s fact and how much is hopeful thinking, but one thing’s clear — Yang Mi’s next chapter as a studio head is off to a strong, headline-grabbing start.
