Singer-actor Liu Yuning has shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes story from Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang’s wedding that nearly turned into a full-blown adventure.
During a recent livestream, Liu Yuning admitted he almost didn’t make it to the event because the wedding location was kept under tight wraps.
According to him, he and his assistant spent a good half-hour driving around in circles trying to figure out where the venue was.

“Even when my assistant got out of the car to ask, the staff refused to say anything,” Liu Yuning recalled, laughing.
“They just said ‘wedding confidentiality’—so we were basically lost guests!”
Eventually, he had to personally step out and reveal his identity before being given proper directions to the site.
Why He Wasn’t the Best Man

Fans also cheekily asked why Liu Yuning didn’t serve as Huang Zitao’s best man. He responded with an embarrassed laugh, saying,
“I can’t be the best man. It’s a bit awkward to explain.”
He was, of course, referring to the Chinese wedding custom that says a best man must be unmarried.
Liu Yuning previously mentioned that he had a short-lived marriage before his showbiz career began—so, no go for the role.

Clearing Up the iPhone Rumour
As for that wild rumour floating around online about iPhone 17s being given as wedding door gifts, Liu Yuning was quick to shut it down in good humour.
“When I got home and opened my gift box, I thought, ‘Where’s the phone?’” he joked. “Someone really started that rumour for fun!”

Even though he wasn’t the official best man, Liu Yuning was still very much a pillar of support during the wedding.
Guests spotted him helping out during the toast ceremony (敬酒)—pouring drinks, keeping things running smoothly, and always staying a respectful step behind the newlyweds.
Huang Zitao even introduced him to the crowd as “my good brother, Ning Ge”, a title that perfectly summed up their long-running friendship.
Despite the secretive start and the comic confusion, Liu Yuning’s presence clearly added warmth and humour to an already joyful day—proof that even the most exclusive weddings can’t hide from a good laugh among friends.
