Tao Streams His Own Wedding! EXO Star Marries Xu Yiyang in Sanya Beach Celebration

Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang tied the knot on 16 October in Sanya, opting for a celebration that felt less like a traditional ceremony and more like an interactive party among friends. The venue: the gorgeous Haitang Bay, with sea breeze, soft light, and zero stuffiness.

There were no bridesmaids or groomsmen lining up in matching outfits.

Instead, the guest list was limited to family and close friends, all invited to relax, mingle, and have fun.

The couple skipped the usual formality and embraced spontaneity—something far more in tune with their personalities.

One of the standout bits? A broccoli toss. Yes, you read that right.

In Chinese, the word for broccoli has a punny twist connected to wishes for prosperity and good fortune—so the groom gave it a fling.

The broccoli was caught (with theatrical flair) by actor Jiang Chao, who yelled, “It’s for my daughter—she loves eating this!”

The moment cracked everyone up and felt delightfully irreverent.

Did Huang Zitao Really Live-Stream His Own Wedding

Another quirky highlight: the “diamond ring hunt.” Instead of a solemn exchange, the couple hid a large prop ring amid floral arrangements and let guests hunt it down.

Whoever found it scored bragging rights—and perhaps some extra wedding-day joy.

Streaming Live: Because Why Not?

But the real twist was that Huang Zitao took matters into his own hands—literally.

He streamed parts of the wedding live on his phone, giving fans a front-row seat.

In one unforgettable moment, he grinned into the camera and said, “I’m getting married—everyone give me a follow!”

It was a far cry from the careful privacy he once maintained about his relationship with Xu Yiyang.

Clearly, things have changed: they’re now embracing openness together.

Fans Are Still Wondering If Luhan Attended Huang Zitao’s Wedding

Many eyes were on whether Tao’s former EXO bandmates would show up—particularly Luhan, with whom he’s collaborated before.

But in the livestream, Tao explained that people were busy and he wouldn’t force anyone to attend.

Over on Xu Yiyang’s side, she was reunited with some familiar faces from Chuang 2020, the show that helped lift her into the spotlight.

Her close friend Liu Xiening got emotional during her blessing speech, quipping through tears: “Huang Zitao took away my best friend.”

Other celebrity guests included Shen Mengchen, Maidina, Xie Keyin, and Dai Luwa, all there to share laughs, hugs, and well wishes.

Interestingly, Tao and Yiyang were already officially registered as married in 2024—it’s just that today was their heartfelt public celebration.

All told, their wedding felt like a love letter to authenticity—equal parts laughter, gesture, and connection.

No rigid rules, no superstars shoved on stage—just real people, real joy, and a few broccoli florets flying through the air.
