Shania Gracia Announces Graduation from JKT48 After 11 Years

Another emotional chapter closes in the JKT48 story as third-gen ace and team captain Shania Gracia officially announces her graduation. 

The surprise news dropped during the FULL HOUSE concert held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta — and let’s just say, not a dry eye in the house.

Gracia, who’s been part of JKT48 for over 11 years, has been more than just your standard idol. From wide-eyed teenager to poised leader, she's grown alongside the group, becoming a pillar of strength, talent, and warmth that fans have held onto through every era.

In her heartfelt graduation speech, Gracia didn’t just thank fans — she honoured the journey they’ve walked together.

“I want all of you to know, this is the reason I’ve made it this far. I truly wanted to be part of this history,” she said.
“When you one day see our original theatre setlist — this thing we’ve waited so long for — I hope you’ll be able to say, ‘Gracia was here. She fought for this.’”

With that, she revealed that the long-awaited original setlist will serve as her final tribute to the group — a symbolic send-off for her years of dedication. 

The moment she’s dreamed of will also mark her curtain call as a JKT48 member and captain.
