Zhao Lusi’s Fashion Show Sparkle Hints at Recovery
Zhao Lusi Wows at JORYA Event but Quiet Fan Moment Sparks Concern Over Her Ongoing Health Struggles

Chinese actress Zhao Lusi, beloved for her bubbly charm and elegant visuals, made a rare public appearance on 11 June at a glitzy JORYA fashion event in Shanghai—and while the star turned heads with her glowing presence, one quiet exchange with a fan has reignited whispers about her health.

Turning up in a strapless light blue gown that had netizens calling her a “sea salt princess,” Zhao Lusi effortlessly embodied the brand’s soft yet sophisticated aesthetic. The dress popped against her porcelain skin, and her relaxed smile had cameras clicking all night.

As the global face of JORYA, Zhao Lusi was there to unveil the brand’s first international flagship store, alongside a themed pop-up in collaboration with RosyDoedian—her very own fashion label.

The event leaned full-on pink, with playful personal touches scattered throughout, including dachshund-shaped benches—a cheeky nod to her two beloved dogs, Doe and Diandian.

Zhao Lusi even arrived with Doe in a matching “parent-child” outfit, drawing coos from the crowd when the pup decided to plop down mid-carpet, leaving her chuckling and gently tugging him along.

While the glamorous setting made headlines, it was Zhao’s heartfelt interaction with fans that truly stood out. From recognising longtime supporters by name to helping one fix her false lashes, her warmth and attentiveness charmed everyone watching.

But when one fan gently asked, “Are you okay?” Rosy only responded with a soft smile—no words, no explanation. That small moment, brief as it was, left fans quietly wondering: is she really doing better?

Zhao Lusi's JORYA Sweet Fan Interaction Sparks Quiet Concern Over Her Wellbeing

Whispers about her health have been circulating since late last year. After wrapping up filming for the modern romance drama Almost Lover (恋人) opposite Peng Guanying in Hangzhou, Lusi was reportedly hospitalised for physical exhaustion.

What followed was a worrying diagnosis—dissociative disorder and depression—according to a June 13 report by Upmedia

The production itself was said to be high-pressure, with Zhao Lusi allegedly working off a “yin-yang script” (a controversial dual-version practice in Chinese drama shoots), forcing her to memorise altered lines and improvise constantly. The stress reportedly triggered a breakdown that temporarily affected her speech and ability to walk.

Since then, she’s been on a quiet hiatus—six months of rehab and recovery away from the camera. And while her appearance at the JORYA event suggests she’s physically on the mend—looking healthier and fuller than at her lowest—some fans have picked up on the continuing melancholic tone in her social media posts. The sense is that while she’s healing, emotionally and mentally she’s not quite back to her old self.

Zhao Lusi’s next drama Love’s Ambition (许我耀眼), previously titled Let Me Shine, is already in the post-production queue. With no confirmed air date just yet, fans are hoping she takes all the time she needs before returning to the spotlight full-time. If this event is anything to go by, she’s getting there—gracefully, quietly, and at her own pace.
