Thai actor and singer Mew Suppasit has left fans both stunned and admiring after turning up for his scheduled fansign in China—despite a sudden and worrying health scare involving his eyesight.

According to an official statement released by Suppasit Channel on Saturday evening (14 June), Mew experienced a sudden loss of vision in his left eye just a day earlier, on 13 June 2025.

The agency, Sol Skipper Co., LTD., shared that he was promptly taken to a medical facility where doctors initially diagnosed him with photic retinopathy—a condition involving inflammation in the macula, triggered by overexposure to intense bright light.

He’s since been prescribed medication and advised to avoid any activities that would expose his eyes to harsh lighting. That includes camera flashes, stage lighting, and even strong sunlight—no small ask for a star constantly under the spotlight.

But in true Mew fashion, the show went on.

On the same day as the announcement, Mew turned up as planned for his ‘Live Fansigning’ event in Shenzhen, China, wearing dark sunglasses throughout.

Fans who attended had no idea he was recovering from an eye injury, as he remained warm, engaging, and visibly grateful during the event.

Later that night, he took to Instagram to personally update fans. Posting a photo of himself in sunglasses, he wrote:

“Just before my flight, I had unexpected eye issues and was advised to avoid bright light—so I had to wear sunglasses all the time. Thank you to everyone who came and showed me so much love and understanding. I truly appreciate your support and kindness. Hope to see you again soon. Thank you Shenzhen!”

The news has sparked concern among his global fanbase, with well-wishes pouring in across social media. Many were touched by his determination to meet fans despite being in discomfort, while others voiced hopes that he wouldn’t push himself too hard.

Adding to the concern is the fact that Mew is still scheduled for another fansign in Shanghai on Sunday (15 June). While fans are excited to see him, they’re also urging the team to prioritise his health.

Here’s hoping Mew gets the rest he needs and makes a full recovery soon. For now, hats off to him for showing up, showing love, and showing strength—even when life threw a curveball.
