What Happened to Keung To? MIRROR Idol Falls Into Hong Kong Sea, Says It Was Just a Slip |
Hong Kong idol Keung To gave fans quite the fright on Tuesday (24 June) after he accidentally fell into the sea near the Western Wholesale Food Market. But don’t panic – the MIRROR star is totally fine and has already reassured everyone that it was just a slip, not a scene from a drama.
At around 4:36pm, emergency services were called after reports came in about a man falling into the water. Turns out it was none other than 26-year-old Keung To, who was quickly rescued by a passing Marine Department vessel and brought to shore at the Central Government Pier. He was conscious the entire time and was taken to Queen Mary Hospital for a quick check-up before heading to a private hospital to rest up.
That night, Keung To hopped on Instagram Stories (through his manager Ahfa Wong’s account) and set the record straight:
“It was just a small accident caused by my own carelessness. I’m fine, so please don’t worry. I hope there won’t be any speculation. I’m truly sorry for causing concern.”

According to his team, Keung To had been out walking near his home after having a few drinks – and simply slipped. No drama, no deep meaning, no hidden messages – just a clumsy moment that happened to be very public.
Still, online chatter picked up fast. A blurry pic did the rounds showing someone in dark clothes on a rescue boat, and netizens started speculating left and right. Some even dragged up Keung’s past struggles with mental health and public scrutiny – but his team shut it all down. "He was just out for a walk. That’s all," said ViuTV exec Kam Kong-shing.

Keung To, who shot to fame after winning Good Night Show – King Maker back in 2018 and went on to become the face of top boy group MIRROR, has faced his fair share of pressure. Between managing fame, body-shaming trolls, and constant online noise, he’s been open about the highs and lows of stardom.
Still, this time it’s clear: the guy just took a wrong step. Nothing more.

Why You Should Keep Watching Keung To
Let’s be honest, a tumble into the sea hasn’t dented this lad’s shine. If anything, it's reminded fans just how human he is – clumsy moments and all. But here’s why you should keep an eye on Keung To:
-
He’s a Gen Z icon with heart. Keung’s honesty about his mental health and personal growth is rare in this industry. He’s never been one to hide behind a PR wall.
-
Charisma for days. Whether it’s singing, acting, or accidentally making waves (literally), Keung To always grabs attention.
-
Comeback energy. He’s been body-shamed, meme’d, and doubted – yet he’s still standing. And smiling. And trending.
If you’re a fan of MIRROR or just enjoy watching an underdog quietly thrive, here’s what to expect:
-
Keung To’s recovery is going smoothly – you’ll likely see him back at work in no time.
-
More music and variety shows are in the pipeline, with MIRROR’s comeback activities scheduled later this summer.
-
A possible public appearance or livestream soon – Keung might just show up to joke about the whole thing (wouldn’t put it past him).
One thing’s clear: this slip-up hasn’t slowed him down. If anything, it’s just made the fandom even stronger.
