| Liu Yifei & Chen Xiao Not Teaming Up (Yet): Actress Still in Script Selection Stage |
Rumour mill’s been spinning fast lately, with talk that Liu Yifei and Chen Xiao might be reuniting on screen for a brand-new drama called Tearless Snow. But hold your horses — according to Liu Yifei’s official fan support group, nothing’s been signed, sealed, or even settled just yet.
Crystal Liu’s fan forum issued a public statement, politely shutting down the noise about her being locked in for the female lead role. “There is currently no confirmed drama project,” they clarified. “She’s still in the script selection process.”
The drama in question, Tearless Snow, was said to follow a gutsy female salt merchant who returns to her hometown a decade after her family’s tragic downfall, all set on revenge and justice.
The story had netizens hyped, especially with whispers of Liu Yifei potentially starring opposite her A Dream of Splendour co-star Chen Xiao again. But according to her camp, it’s all just speculation for now.

The back-and-forth around casting didn’t help either — reports claimed the role had bounced from Crystal to Zanilia Zhao, then to Yang Zi, and back to Crystal again. No wonder fans were confused.
In the fan group’s post, they explained they don’t speak on Liu Yifei’s behalf regarding business decisions, and that even if production companies have made offers, nothing can be assumed without her direct confirmation. “Whether she takes or declines a project is her own decision alone,” the message read.
They also reminded fans that Liu Yifei is no stranger to playing the long game — previous projects that faced early doubt eventually turned into major hits. “Her last three music-related projects were all met with scepticism at first, but they became massive successes,” they wrote. “She takes her time to choose quality.”
So for now, fans of A Dream of Splendour hoping for a sweet onscreen reunion will have to sit tight. There’s still no word on which drama Liu Yifei will grace next — but if history is anything to go by, whatever she picks will be well worth the wait.
